The 3 cylinders are 'clocked' by 120 degrees on the crankshaft so you are getting 1,2,3,1,2,3... In most 4 cylinder engines two pistons move together, even if they don't fire together, 1&4, 2&3, etc.. so maybe the 3 cylinder could be more smooth than you might think. Of course the best way to fix this is to make the rest of the car so loud that you can hear it or feel it anyway.

Ford's new 3-cyl turbo.... boy that engine is compact.

consumer reports in their annual auto issue says the TLX is coming with a turbocharged 4 cylinder...hmmn, i'm betting that's a typo...

After driving my dads 2014 KIA optima SX turbo 4cyl..... i hope the TLX handles and performs like that. Great fuel mileage...lots of pick up... and excellent handling/steering
