Well.....I did it....bought a 2015 TLX SH-AWD Tech!!!

As the title states, I caved, and pulled the trigger on a 2015 TLX SH-AWD with Tech pkg. I went with the Basque Red Pearl, which in the sunlight is amazing!

I must admit, it was not my first choice on the list, it was my third choice of three, but the value can't be beat. Equipment content, and price point is just not something the competition cannot compete with.

And the fact that I was able to get out of my Lease on my current TL SH-AWD 6mt, 9 months early and I already have 93,000km of my allowable 96,000km for the lease term, and STILL save $80/month on my payment for the new Lease, well it was just a no brainer! Here are some pics from the dealer. I will post better pics once I pick it up on Thursday. I've also added the 30% tint, and the fog lights. Can't wait until Thursday!

Coming from a 4G 6MT, I'm interested in hearing your review after you take delivery and have some seat time with the TLX.

Congratulations! I had a BRP 1984 Honda Accord, 2011 TSX and now a 2015 TLX. Red is a good color and quite unique, at least for now.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys.....i'll definatley give a full review comparing the 4G 6mt to this new ride.

The other two cars on my list was first choice being the Lexus IS350, and the Infiniti Q50 in at number 2. Both cars were well over $50,000 canadian with similar features.

I have a good friend looking to buy and sees the same thing in pricing per feature. She's still torn between the Q50S and TLX but will buy based on best price.

But is your oil level still full?? That's the issue i was having with my TL. I would have 40% oil life, and pull the dip stick just to see that it is bone dry.

No real plans to do any modding, as it's my daily driver, and in a sales role, need the practacility. But who knows, this forum is a bad influence when i see the potential. Now, if i didn't have a wife to put the brakes on that modding bug, then i'd be singing a different tune. lol

Congrats about your TLX!! It looks really good and I know for a fact that Basque Red look so much better in real life than photos....a friend of mine has an RDX in this color and in person...WOW!

There is no doubt that the Acura is a better deal than Lexus....I have been browsing various brands (including BMW, Audi, Lexus and Cadillac) and with the exception of Cadillac, the Acura has it beaten by a long shot! The Cadillac is very similar (on a lease) because of the generous rebates...

I have had the same car in SSM and grey leather for 11 days now and absolutely love it. I also have a 2014 Altima SL Tech, and although it's a nice car, I have had some issues and have driven a loaner Q50 (Sport, Hybrid, etc.) about 6 times over several days per session as a loaner from the Nissan Infinity dealership. It's a nice car, but honestly, even without the price difference, I would opt for the TLX 3.5 SH-AWD over the Q50…unless you need to be the fastest off the line. I prefer the looks, the quietness, the ride, the steering feel, better fuel economy…and the Acura dealership folks. As for the Lexus IS350, also a nice car, but not worth the extra coin.

Congratulations from Vancouver Island. My new TLX arrives later this week. I am excited for you and am looking for some of my own in the next few days.

Be sure to share how the Good-Year tires are in snow.

Sounds like you were ready to give up 6MT entirely, since none of your choices offer it. So no sacrifice was made by going with the TLX over the other two, except for perhaps a RWD chassis

Well guys, I have been told my car is on the recall list. So instead of the possibility of a new tranny, I went with one that is not affected. No longer getting the red though, I opted for choice #2, Silver Slate Metallic, which is fine by me because it will look great under any type of lighting. The red is georgous, but only at its best under the sun

@Acura2010 I just got out of my 4G TL SH-AWD and picked up my TLX last week. How are you liking the ELS system on the TLX? I find it pretty disappointing as compared to 4G. Still getting used to the softer ride of the TLX as well.

My experience has been that it takes about 100 hours so of listening at elevated volumes to break in speakers. When I crank up these new ones, they sound tighter and crisper than my TL Type S speakers (which had been shredded pretty badly over the years lol).

I didn't find the ELS system bad at all in the cars I've tested. I thought it sounded every bit as good as the 4G... but then again, I was using DTS-CDs

I haven't taken delivery yet, Thursday or Saturday they are telling me. I'll be sure to let you know my thoughts on the ELS. I'm Also a little concerned about the softer ride. I truly love the stiff sporty ride of my 4G. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

In the end, I'm getting a new car, and also saving money on my monthly payment, for pretty awesome car nonetheless. Nothing to complain about here, except for the fact I might have to chase it down the street someday! Lol

Actually, I am finding the same with my ELS system - the longer I own my TLX, the better the bass gets. I was wondering whether it's just that the speakers were not broken in yet, so I am glad that you have the same experience! Thanks.
