Type S confirmation, Date?

So Im a salesman at a dealership in Southern California, here are the facts we know: Yes there will be a type s. When? One day, eventually. We pray Acura steps it up and launches it in 2020 when the TLX is due for redesign. However, so far Acura has only had type s out in the 4th and 5th year of that generation (2002 2003 2007 and 2008). So who really knows!
Im hoping that Acura's "type s" is the NSX set up with a V6 twin turbo and Sport Hybrid All Wheel Drive!
One fun fact one guy told us that all Acura's will have a Aspec model, including the future RDX and MDX. Sounds cool to me!

08 TL type-S
Very cool to know. I love my 08 TL-S Aspec. The new 2018 TLX is a disappointment, after 10 years, no change in the engine.
I will get a new TLX when they upgrade the engine like they should have done this year. This is encouraging to know the Type S may return!

I heard pretty much the same information from the factory rep during my NSX ride-along back in the summer. All models will get an A-spec and the Type S will return for the next generation TLX. Goal is 400 hp from a TTV6. Whether it will have Sport Hybrid AWD wasn't told to me.

I'll believe it when I see it. When was the last time a Type S was more than the top drivetrain with a modest bump in power?

Here's to hoping! Ikeda did inherit the current product portfolio from his predecessor, so the upcoming unveiling of the RDX will be his first baby, so-to-speak. There will be a lot of expectations seeing as the design language, the tech and the mechanical bits will basically dictate the new direction of Acura. They have to get it right, or they'll lose the enthusiasts of yesteryear.

If I was in ACURA marketing department that survey would be a number one priority on a where we were, where we are now & where do we want to be in a strategic planning study. From HONDA finance & dealer records they have a lot of historical data that should make it easy to contact a pretty large segment of lost customers to find out why they bailed out.
I never got the email or phone call.

Think those horses are already out of the barn. Its more about recapturing some & attracting the next generation now buying the lower priced performance cars. Expect a Coupe series with some muscle would not hurt either in establishing some true sports cred.
