Turned my lease in

My lease was up on my 2015 TLX and I’ve been looking at other brands these past few months. I loved the looks of the new RDX but when I test drove it the transmission wasn’t exactly the smoothest, little to no incentives were offered and the transmission nightmare with the TLX just turned me off from the brand. I hope to return to Acura someday. I love the direction they are going in. I Can’t wait for the TLX type s to make its debut. It’s been a longtime coming.

After test driving many cars I decided to lease a BMW 340i x drive. The difference in handling, and acceleration is night and day. The price is a bit higher but I truly enjoy driving it.

This forum is awesome and I’ll check in from time to time.

I had 2 Bimmers before the TLX and handling is definitely something I want better in my next car. I doubt the tires explain it all.

I think you will like the new BMW. Congrats. Leasing BMWs is a smart move. Did you test drive the A4/A5/A5 Sportback? Wonder why you picked the BMW over the Audis?

Congrats on the new ride. With my 16 lease coming up in a few months, the 340i and A5 Sportback are on my shortlist along with the V6 ASpec and Q50 RS400.

i look forward to your occasional updates.

I appreciate the sentiments! I looked at the S5 sport back and even some Benz’s and other cars.

I test drove a CPO C450 that I loved. The dealership wasn’t willing to negotiate on the price and the thought of replacing an AMG rim and maintenance after the warranty expired made me apprehensive. Each rim is 1500 bucks a pop.

The S5 sportback had a great interior, comfortable ride and very planted, loved the exhaust. The lease price wasn’t exactly stellar, but the amenities made up for it.

The X3 M40i would have been my pick. It had everything I wanted. Great interior, handling, I absolutely LOVED the sound of the exhaust and how agile it felt especially when pushed around bends and curvy roads. Because it was new for 2018 they didn’t want to negotiate on the price.

The 340i has the same engine as the x3 M40i, price was cheaper, the car is lighter, feels faster, handles like a dream and when put into sport mode the exhaust pops and crackles. I have no blind spots and I truly feel one with the car. The only thing I have to get used to is the steering. I can’t tell what the front wheels are doing as there really isn’t any road feel.

It is not. Still a very smooth and powerful motor.

Isn’t the B58 in both models?

congrats on your new 340xi.
i did test drove it with M-sport pkg and loved it but my wallet didn't like the payment figures.
do you mind me asking what sort of deal/payment you got on your lease?
I ended up w/ Giulia Ti-Sport Q4 instead which is class lower in terms of trim which puts in same category with 330xi/C300/A4 instead of XE-S/340xi/S4/C43

Not sure what you mean by “It is not”. Correct me if I’m wrong but Both cars use the B58 motor. The X3 M40i is tuned differently though.
