I went from a 09 TSX I4 Base to a 15 TLX V6 SHAWD Advance. My decision was about improving comfort and technology in my daily driver. Consider the TSX a fully loaded Accord. It looked great, was small, tight, quick and nimble. The four banger gets the job done, but it's hardly fast. You won't win many drag races. It feels like it corners on rails thanks to the stiff suspension, which makes it easy and fun to drive. But that aggressive suspension makes for a rough ride. Half hour or longer trips on some of our local roads got frustratingly bumpy. My lower back got pounded pretty hard. All in all, a capable car that doesn't do anything great, but does everything well. I got compliments on it periodically. In came my TLX and everything improved. AWD was a must for me in the northern climates. The Honda V6 is legendary for reliability and pulls like a freight train (however, the ZF9 is pretty much garbage). The suspension makes for a much smoother, comfortable ride. Comparing the TSX and TLX is like comparing a Chevy Cavalier and a Cadillac XTS. One is designed to get the job done. One is designed to get the job done as well as possible.
Zing.

2015 TLX Tech vs '08 TSX base
I recently had to replace my 2008 TSX due it being totalled in a collision (no one was hurt) and originally wanted to find a comparable car...same year (or close) same model but got swayed into buying a newer model and settled on a 2015 TLX TECH which almost feels like too many gadgets for me...it probably safer, due to features, but still have a nagging feeling and miss my TSX. I could just be nostalgic, but I loved that car...it was good to me for several years and had low miles under 80k .bought used and drove for 7 years .Long story short gang, would it be crazy to trade in the 2015 for an older TSX? This is my 4th ACURA and I have both a 2005 and 2008 TSX and like the 2004-2008 body type models. Only problem is it's difficult to find one now with under 100k miles...I don't drive much anymore and have only put 2k on the TLX in the past 6 months. The TLX is just ok, but the TSX just seemed more nimble and fun. Thoughts? I am looking at a 2008 with around 105k miles for just under 7 thousand in my area.

I feel for you. I'm planning on trading my 2011 Kia Optima EX on a 2007 Accord V6 because I miss my 2008 TL and love my 2007 RDX.
No, you're not crazy!
New cars lack soul and character. Personally, I don't want anything newer than 2008. The price for that TSX seems pretty good! Check it out, thalk them down and make it a great deal. Use the leftover funds from selling the TLX to invest into any outstanding repairs or maintenance and pocket the difference, given you owe nothing on the TLX.
Sorry you had to go through this, and I TOTALLY understand it!

Thanks
Thanks midnite...just worried about the mileage. The TLX has less than 40k on it, which makes me question myself about buying a car with higher mileage .I'll have to take a close look, the one I'm looking at was originally listed at $7700 and it's now been reduced to $6988, so it does seem like a good deal with the Carfax buyback guarantee. Although the TLX still has some factory warranty left. Not sure if I'm bias or the newer model just seems less exciting to me and doesn't seem to have the same pep .

I have almost 247K miles on my RDX and put 499 miles on it yesterday, lol! My Kia also has 176K miles, and it had 165K when I traded my 2008 TL with 106K miles for it.
Keep looking for a lower mileage example if it really matters. You may have to replace parts anyway, but that comes with almost any cars at this this milage.

I have a 2014 TSX. I like it a lot. It has a very light weight feel to it and seems to glide around gracefully. The handling is what sold me, I fell in love with it right away.
It just is not fast enough. I test drove a 2018 TLX and I qualify for it. The speed was around more what I want. It has a better punch but isn't too much. It is just enough. And I like that the gas mileage isn't but 3 mpg less than my I4.
When I test drove it, it felt like more of a boat. It felt bigger, heavier, and less responsive to handling. That being said, I did not get to drive it much because of time constraints and traffic. I really want to get you guys opinion to see if it really has better handling than the TSX. It is all wheel drive so I would think that it would be more light weight but after the test drive I am not so sure.
How does it compare? Is there anyone in here that has driven both and has some opinions? Thank you.

Tires
The TLX has Bridgestone Turanza Serenity plus tires on it. On a sad related note, I had just spent $600 on all new tires for my TSX 4 days before it was totalled. Fortunately my insurance Co factored this in on my pay out so I got a fair sum .
