Managed to source an OEM TLX hood deflector from Canada. Now I have it there are no installation instructions.... but lots of brackets etc. How the heck do I secure this thing?

Erm.... I don't have an RDX... I have a TLX.... not convinced that the RDX forum is actually appropriate for my vehicle...

Anyone out there got a TLX and installed the OEM hood deflector? I can't find any official Acura install guides online

Contacted dealership in Canada - they are sending instructions to me tomorrow. I know bug deflectors are not everyones cup of tea but I prefer them to paint chips. Took it out to inspect and its actually really nice. Not sold in the USA so I may be the only bug deflector wearer in town!

Before you wrote bug deflector, I had no idea what you were talking about.

Seriously? Oh come on! It says hood deflector on the Acura box. You probably know it more commonly as a bug deflector. But that's just semantics. Clue is in the title . Hood. Deflector. Ie deflector that goes on the hood. But thanks for the interesting reply 😜

For any who is ACTUALLY interested in this topic, Acura have now sent a PDF as to how to fit this unit... on the hood... to deflect things... 😜

With all due respect, I don't believe you will get many takers. Most that want to protect their front paint go with the clear film that is made for that purpose. Personally I don't do either but that's just me.

The closest I have come to any extra front end protection is a 3/8" thick Nomex honey comb sheet to protect my COBRA'S radiator from rock punctures..

To each his own. I'm not fond of hood stickers - no matter how expensive they are they always go yellow and living in Florida...!not a good option for me. I received the instructions and fitted it today. It looks awesome. I appreciate some people don't like them and that's cool but I really like how it looks. I have black /red 20" rims and a blacked out grill so it adds to the stealth effect. Wasn't really expecting many takers... Performance Acura don't sell them in the US so I had to source it in Canada. Anyhow, as far as I'm concerned this thread is done... I got my instructions and the desired result. 😊

Its usual to include a picture when you do something to the car or get a new car. Someone else might like it & want to do the same thing.

Ah but seriously it's going through transition right now. Suspension work - 20" rims - GT body kit - a small engine tweak - color coded grille. When it's all done I'll post before and after photos 😊
