You're enjoying life? Really? The head and mind you use to judge and berate me is the same head and that is judging you every moment of every day. Must be a bad neighborhood. I'm glad your head isn't sitting on my shoulders.

Please go and enjoy your life.

As a proud resident of Ohio and recent owner of my 3rd Acura (2nd TL) I would like to apologize for the thread started by one of our less than finer citizens. He hasn't seen a TLX in person or driven one yet he passes judgment. I'll bet he doesn't hire strippers by just looking at a few photographs.

Just my 2 cents.

lol That is a good one dano. He hopes to take each one on a test drive and maybe some allow him to because they're desperate for a job.

All I can say is its a whole lot prettier than the 4g was. I could see buying it while the 4g was a no-go. It isn't immediate lust like the 3g was when it came out.

Agreed. We have a 2007 TL Type S in the family, my sons car and what a great looking awesome machine it is. I like the 4G, but no comparo to the 3G, particularly the Type S

Jbawden - great comment about the "pompous douche bag guy" he does "think" he knows it all. Your comment nailed it!

Agree. However, it should be re-opened if:

1. The robots torque bolts with the wrong specs
2. The torque converter starts playing music - lol
3. The bearings of the prop shaft make funny noises
4. The speakers go bad
5. The door handle buttons stop working in cold weather
6. The driver seat bolts/bushings loosen up after a while
7. ... you get the picture.

I agree with those who say you can't judge a car by looking at a plastic prototype. Get in, drive it, own it for a year or two... then you can have an opinion.

PS. (if I may...) A thread "how many strippers can you fit in a TLX?" would have been much more informative

Better yet, delete the thread altogether. It was conceived poorly to begin with. No sense having to look at it. Just delete.

While I disagree with the TLX is crap statement (there really isn't enough info either way to say for sure) I don't see a reason to delete the thread. It isn't insulting to any ethnic or religious groups. It is more the replies by others than the original post although there were some pretty uncharitable things said throughout the thread. The original poster is entitled to an opinion even if I don't agree with it.

I still thing the 3G TL and 1G TSX are by far the best looking Acuras to date. Likewise, I'm liking the looks of the TLX protoype. I'm just hoping that (in terms of styling) Honda continues their trend of production cars being pretty much identical to the prototype. I think the TLX is a winner, and ca't wait to have it

I have one question, no insults, name calling, whatever, just a question.

Why do you have to respond to every post made about the insults in this thread? You seem like you have a vested interest in having a comeback to every single insult in this thread, no matter if its about you or not.

Just wondering. Maybe I haven't been around here long enough.

After 3 weeks of trying to let this thread die, why do we have to resurrect it????

Please no response.. just let this thread die.

Its funny, I don't see that many 3Gs on the road but every time I do, I do a double take as they look like what the 4G could have been. I really wish I had bought a 3G but I had just bought my 2G a couple of years earlier and I tend to drive my cars into the ground.

It's funny to see threads like this started before production. Go back and read the early threads when the 3rd Gen TL's were just prototypes and immediately after production and you'll see the same type of threads/comments, "That thing looks like a piece of crap" or "No way am I trading my 2nd Gen TL for that POS". I think the 3rd gen wound up doing pretty well. Same for the 2nd Gen RL. Many didn't like it until it was out for a while and they got a chance to test drive it. I suspect years from now somebody will go back and read the OP's comments and say, "Boy, that guy sure was off the mark."

This is true. I reading the threads from 2003 about the 3G TL. A lot of people didn't like it since the styling was different from th 2G TL, but it sold pretty well.

On the flip side there was the 4G TL that a lot of people didn't like the styling and it didn't sell very well.

Don't know about that. The 3G TL looks good to me upon first glance. (and is the best selling car for Acura right)

The 4G looks hideous (sales tanked right?). The 5G looks like a bad photoshop of the 4G and 3G together.

I wanted a Type-S when I was in high school. The 3G kept calling my name. There was no way in hell my parents would have even thought about getting me a $40K car, more or less a $5K car. They didn't believe in handing things to children whenever they wanted. Hard work and a good education was their goal. They'll help you if you're trying to help yourself. Half of my friends had everything they could have wanted and still wanted more.

As for the 5G I like how it looks. I know it'll be toned down, but the 3G was as well. From what I've seen the exterior of the 5G is pretty much what we'll get minus a few things like the mirrors, bumpers, wheels, and side skirts. No biggie imo. That's usually how it goes (i.e. 3G MDX). The 4G TL still hasn't grown on me though.

Saw it at the Chicago Auto Show last weekend. My thoughts on styling. I KNOW the quality will be better.

I'm just waiting to see the interior and get final numbers on both engines. I still don't see myself buying a 4-cylinder, but I'm curious to see what kind of combination of performance and mileage these things get. Right now, I don't see much of an alternative for what I want out there in this segment.

Mmmm, because I have issues I'm working out? Or is it because I hate trolls and bullies? Or is it that I really am fed up with people making outrageous statements without merit? Or could it be that there was a time when there were discussions but now people drop 140 character bombs? Maybe it's because there is a type of forum user who adds nothing of value and it seems their only purpose is make others feel worse thereby polluting the forum? Finally, could it be that the people I engage with show up on the Lexus forum and exhibit the same behavior and that several of these people have been driven away by Lexus people who got fed up with them?

With all due respect, why did you feel it necessary to take me to task for something that happened long ago? Why bring up a post that happened a month ago? I have not been on the forum for a month. Surely there have been insults hurled in the interim that I didn't have a comeback for? Why would you try to put me on the defensive? Sure you couch your post in civility but the subtext reads differently. Maybe you should do an inventory of your motivations and your character defects rather than taking mine?

If you read just a smattering of my posts you'd see I am an enthusiastic supporter of people and add value in a positive manner -- expect when the type of person described above appears.

Anyways -- take care.

I do like it.. so far. Only seen the concept pix so far but like where it's headed. The 4G needed the direct injection system. My GS has it and boy, is it ever responsive compared to the TL's sluggish feel when you punch it.

Exactly, I love the ride of the GS but the looks, well, it just doesn't grab me like my TL did. My litmus test for liking the look of a car (or truck) is when it is parked out in a parking space, away from other cars. The view as I approach the vehicle is what grabs me... the TL always made me smile. No other type of car on the road has that look.. I can tell a TL from a long way off, from front and rear.

The lines/shape of the GS looks like nearly every other car from the side and back. The rear looks like an Optima and other cars.

Yes, I know I can! I know you guess miss me and my bad attitude . ie grumpy old man :P

I have been thinking about it though, which is scary. I am in a lease though (won't do that ever again. I drive more than I thought) and will have to find a way out of it.

It amazes me how a design can look good when revealed and become so old and stale so quickly after the next gens unveiling, looking at most sedans to me, aren't appealing enough as they prob should, rip 3rd gen tl
