For a lexus, I wonder why the IS isnt selling well.

As for the ats, i agree. Even the mkz beat it

I for one hate the interior and their pricing for, what you get is out of line a bit, competition in the $40K range is fierce. And with A3 A4, CLA appealing to status oriented buyers. Then add al, the incentives Acura and Infiniti put in and BMW always a has attractive lease deals on 3 series and such.

Isn't it due for a replacement? I think it is, but I'm not sure it matters. The ATS just doesn't have enough Cadillac in it

The ATS is pretty much the best driving car in this class. But it's lacking in other departments unfortunately. Its BMW-level pricing doesn't help either. GM should be able to nail the next generation though.

The TLX is doing fine though. I wonder what the incentives are like for it.

Let's not forget the Cadillac ATS has what could possible considered the worst dash in it's class.

^^This^^

Lexus got hit with the ugly stick. The IS and GS took a turn for the worse in the looks department. The IS is too small and does not look like premium level car. The GS is generic looking almost like the RLX.

Yeah, but nobody was paying sticker price for it. From what I recall, they were discounting that car like mad a year after it was released. I still love the Cadillac design. I almost bought one, but read all the usual GM nagging issues on Caddy forums and decided against it.

Cadillac is making some of the best luxury sport sedans in the world, and they're continuing to improve their lineup. As auto enthusiasts, we should be overjoyed that a US company is stepping up to the plate!!

I test drove the Cadillac ATS and found it nice and handles very well.....but Cadi was not for me! I think they are still having a hard time shedding the "old fart" image even though they are making some very well handling and stylish cars. I did not like the turbo four in a 50K car.
Boy, 1,700 in sales for the month, they must be crying.

thats probably part of the issue. Enthusiasts make up a very very very small number of buyers.

I'm also willing to bet that a large percentage of the 1700 sold were "sold" to rental fleets. I used to rent cars weekly and man does Hertz (and Avis/National/etc) have a fair number of ATS's... GM, Nissan, Hyundai/Kia and Toyota love to boost their sales figures with fleet sales

x2

I drove an ATS 3.6 and its handling/steering was close to my BMW of then. The engine was great too. It was more "naturally tossable" than the TLX IMO.

I test drove and liked it, the only turn off was the run flats and not place for a spare.

Is there a place for a spare in the TLX? Not in mine!

Really glad to see TLX numbers going up a little. After 3 months, TLX was able to beat Q50. I am 99% sure Jan to Mar Q50s numbers were up due to the crazy promotions.

On a positive side, so far Acura sold 54K units in USA and 6K units in Canada. Well done Acura

RDX is killing it. 5,900 units in April.

Sure there is there is a spare option for the TLX and 16 RDX. I paid for space saving spare in each car. I will not own a car without a spare tire, the Q50 is same deal, spare is an option you can buy.

As KeithL said, there is, but it's part of a spare tire kit. It was apparently unavailable to Canadians until I harassed the District Manager for Acura around here about it (both directly and through the parts guy). Got it installed and guess what, you get to keep the inflator kit AS WELL. It all fits. You lose the storage area under the trunk floor though. I'm fine with that because I do lots of long distance trips.

It should be on their parts list now. Go bug the parts counter at your dealership.

I understand now that it must replace the plastic insert at the bottom of the trunk. Did I see $369US?

Most of the 8 yrs with my E90 I carried a spare wheel (an off season one - had two sets), taking 20% of my trunk. It was one of my obsessions. Now with my much shorter commute and the live pressure info , I am ok as is.

The RDX works for almost everyone...

I could see at least half of the people I know happily driving one daily...

Wow, 5,900

So let me see, 5,900 x 12 = 70,800

Dang!!!

Much better than the 10-15,000 a year the first gen sold...

cause it inflates the numbers and kills resale for those who buy those cars.

Not necessarily, the Camry and Charger, for example, are very common in rental fleets and their resale value is quite good, the Charger has even won an ALG residual value award recently.

The IS is taking a hit because the incentives are horrible and what you get from the entry 200t isnt all that good. The IS350 though is great.

Acura changed the approach to the RDX when going from 1st gen to 2nd gen. The 1st gen is actually a very sporty CUV. Unfortunately people found it too harsh, and the engine isn't all that amazing. The 2nd gen is more comfy with a smooth, powerful V6. Can't blame Acura for making the change, as its sales are really good.

I do wish there's a Type S trim though, with SH-AWD.

Acura is selling 1300 a week, that's about 218 a day....

Friday/Saturday's sell much greater, so maybe 125 Monday-Thursday 300 Friday, and 500 Saturday...

I saw a 2017 on the lot last week...

This is likely Acuras volume seller, like the Lexus RX...
