I agree...dual screen is almost inevitable.

And I really wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of sport variant come out, 6MT Turbo or not. Acura really needs something to compete with Lexus F Sport, and a TLX Type S would fit the bill nicely, especially in that KBP color that photog mocked up in the other thread.

I doubt we'll ever see the Type S trim again. I think it died with the 3g TL. Hopefully im wrong and it makes a comeback. That would be awesome.

I wouldn't spend 45k on that though. I could think of cars that are a couple years old at that price point I'd rather buy.

Just as I had been considering a 2 year old 4G, I will be considering a slightly used TLX in the future, hopefully for about $30-ishK. This will also give me some time to see if they come out with a sport model.

Yeah, I couldn't afford it but ill agree, if I had 45k to spend on a car it certainly isn't going to be an Acura. Nothing against them, fantastic cars and the new tlx looks great but I think I could do better with 45k.

Kj that's a great plan. Avoid the initial hit for depreciation, see what the actual product offering is, and get a quality vehicle at a reduced price.

This. Do you know what $40-$45K can get in the slightly used (ie 2-3 year) market? M5, S4, almost a second gen CTS-V, STI, Camaro SS, Mustang Cobra, 335, list goes on and on. There's no way I'm going to pick up another old torque-less SOHC automatic j-series with virtually no tuning or aftermarket options for that price.

I'm not a Acura/Honda hater. I'm a lover. And my lover has gone and cheated. I feel sick to my stomach. I've resolved to keep my TL for a loooong time. Maybe even transform it into a track car now that it's paid off. But my next vehicle will NOT be an Acura.

just like people have bought 4G brand new for 50+ here in canada they will buy this for the same price. I think auto SHAWD model with a-spec kit might have came close to 60k. I see a lot of 4G actually, 3 people at my work have them alone. Same as this, this will sell if it looks like this, and people will go buy them

Dealers are frustrated, the manager I recently spoke with at a dealership here in north jersey told me they have repeatedly told Acura over & over what needs to be done to make a strong come back in the auto market. But they don't listen. I'm sorry, but a 305 HP engine equipped car for $45,000+ just isn't cutting it anymore. BMW offers several models with the same or LESS HP rating but for more money. This is where Acura is screwing up, develop an engine with 330 HP and put it in the TLX with all the other gadgets and it will be a major sales hit. For some reason Acura is stuck on 305 HP, with the exception of the new RL.

Also from Jalopnik, Acura will need to step their game up BIG TIME if this ever gets produced...
http://jalopnik.com/the-infiniti-q50...-if-1500264415

Holding out for potential Type-S trim with the 3.5TT from the GT car. If the 3G TL-S came out 3 years into production, could we see the TLX-S in 2017?

I think I spaced out at work and came to thinking I had a different thread open? It doesn't make any sense.

That was a great article. It couldent convey the truth about acura any better. I've had the same thoughts about the brand for years now. I do like the styling of the new tlx prototype quite a lot, far more then the 4g TL. But the author is right about how unsurprising it is. Another FWD based V6 sedan (I guess the base model comes with a 2.4? Strange.) Acuras lineup is certainly a few steps behind their competition, and has been for a while. They were great thoughout most of the 90s had a bit of a setback with the 2g tl/cl trans issues and had another great run through most of the 00s. These days there is really nothing exciting about them. I guess I haven't said anything that hasn't been said before ,but that will conclude my rant.

Anyone mention that it will be available in front- and all-wheel drive configurations, with either engine?

"At one end of the lineup is a 2.4L Direct Injected VTEC engine, mated to a all new Acura design and developed 8 speed dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter. Handling performance will be aided by the next generation of Acura's Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) technology"

I'm surprised they are going to feature a 4cylinder version. I cant imagine it selling very well? Maybe I missed it but was the curb weight mentioned anywhere? Also ,I wonder how the rear wheel steering is, I remember it being available on preludes for a while and a few other company's were doing it. Gmc /Chevy had that option on their 1/2 ton trucks for a while, they looked really goofy when making a sharp turn.

Curb weight, engine specs, interior shots, and MSRP pricing have all not been mentioned yet.

People tend to forget that this TLX is meant to replace both the TSX and TL. Because of that, it has to fill in the void that the TSX left (low cost and a 4cyl version)

The current gen TSX is available in both 2.4L or 3.5L.

TSX 2.4L - $30,635
TSX 3.5L - $39,275

The current gen TL is available in 3.5 or 3.7 SH-AWD

TL 3.5 - $36,030
TL 3.7 - $39,310

So this TLX "MIGHT" be in the neighborhood of $31k - $39k. Maybe $46k for a fully loaded model like the current TL

To do so, they have a TLX 2.4L model to be the base model. I would guess pricing would be ~$33k for the 2.4L and ~$39k for the 3.5L

Probably typo on their website. They probably wanted to say that Acura TLX will offer FRONT wheel drive with both engines instead of ALL.

Base will have PAWS, V6 will have AWD or PAWS. Sounds like CS is getting AW steer/drive confused.
