check out the tint shop in Flushing. The only thing is how are you going around the new NY state inspection law for tints.

IL here, but I just had all my windows done and I’m having an issue with the light reflecting horribly in my rear window. They said it was because the defroster lines and antenna are thick. Anyone else have this issue with rear tint?

I don't have any issues with my rear tint. What do you mean though. Can you not see out of the rear window? Also what tint (company and model) did you go with and percentage?

I went with a company called “CarSmart”. They’ve done about 5 cars for me with no issues which is why this baffles me. The tint is 20%. It just reflects any light from behind onto the rear defrost lines. I took a pic of my rear view mirror at night to give an idea of what I see.

That's really strange, I haven't seen that before. I used Llumar Pinnacle and don't have that issue.

Strange indeed. Never had an issue with any of my cars before.

I emailed the owner and he said “It comes down to the make/model and the construction of the defroster lines and the slant/angle of the window. Some windows that are on more of an angle than others display this issue more prominently than others. You seem to have one of the few cars creating "The Perfect Storm" to present this issue. It’s basically what the defroster lines are when then are a bit more raised that others, the film angling up from the flat part of the glass to the defroster lines is like "pitching a tent" over that defroster line and the ever so tiny angle of the film catches the light and creates a glare.”

Im going to send him what you used and tell him other people are not having this issue with the same car and see what comes of it.

Thanks for the help!

I guess I never noticed it as much but I guess I have a little bit of what you have, but it doesn't appear to be as bad

Yeah, it looks like you have the issue too. I guess I’m just hyper-sensitive to this sort of stuff 😕
