There Will Be No 5G TL !
Stopped by my dealer yesterday. Patrick the sales manager immediately recognized me and came over to say Hi. In the ½ hour we chatted, he let me know that the TL and the TSX are being replaced by ONE model next year, the TLX. They discovered that out of those who traded in their 3G TL and stayed with Acura, ½ went to the 4G TL and ½ went to the current gen TSX. This new model will be closer in size to the 3G TL. So considering there's an ILX, the new RL is now the RLX, and a TLX like he described would fit in between size wise. This all makes sense to me.

So a TLX would still be a 5th Gen TL?????
I am confused. Because they added the X on the end its going to be a 1st gen???
Either way, as long as its a 3.7 v6 with option 6 mt and sh-awd it should be good.
And please for the love of god change the front end.
Acura has now adopted the ugliness throughout the whole lineup.

OMG there will be no Infiniti G-series in 2014.... !!!!!
anyways, it's just a name change...lets just hope Acura gets it right both inside and out.
My plan is to keep the 3G till 2018... as I'm seeing all you 04 owners nearing the 10yr mark and they still look absolutely FINE FINE FINE!

A 3g Tl with internal hard drive, sh-awd and a 3.7L v6 with DOHC mated to a 6 speed engine would be a fresh start.

The 3G is the overall best looking sedan Acura has made. It was also their most successful. The styling refresh was the worst thing Acura did with their new "market strategy." 
I'm only saying that because I liked Acura when they still made sports cars and Type-S's.
Every person I've seen in a new Acura is an older person usually 50+, so I guess Acura's marketing is working.

create an all new design that looks as great as the 3G does.
kinda weird to release a new product that looks like an old version.
the 2nd gen TSX doesnt look that bad.
and with mods the 4th gen TL looks great!
I sure hope acura does go backwards in design

Actually, TL sales dropped sharply in 2007. Annual sales for 2004-2006 were 77k, 78k and 71k respectively. 2007-2008 were down to 58k and 48k.
The TL was on fire in 04-05, but then Lexus released the 2G IS models and Infiniti upped the ante on the G and that put a major hurt on TL sales.

imo the 2G TSX is the best looking sedan Acura has made. If the TLX can look like that, it'll be golden.

Not that i'm saying it's true that the TSX and TLX are going to be merged, but it doesnt surprise me.
i really hope they incorporate some form of LED headlight into the TLX. however if two two lines merge, i dont know if SH-AWD would be an option. hopefully it still is.

have all of you been hiding under a rock?
if the 14 MDX received LED head lights, you bet your bottom dollar the TLX will have some sort of LED headlights.
and its pretty much confirmed that the tsx and tl will go away.
