Sport + Mode does it only use 6 gears?
I have seen mention that in Sport+ mode the ZF9 transmission only uses 6 gears.
I cant find nything in the owners manual that substantiates that.
Can anyone validate this or is it urban myth?
TIA

I can't speak for the TLX, but I know with my 2007 RDX with the 5AT it would lock out 5th gear. It's something you can test fairly easily though, take it on a higher speed road and put it in sport plus and try to shift into 7th, it probably will not let you. Then you know the answer to your question.

Can't speak for the TLX, but the A4 only uses 6 gears in dynamic mode. Similar mechanism, I would assume.

Manuel says it only uses 6 gears and favors high RPM. It just amilifies my jerky transmission. From 2-3 it's the worst, it's just too uncomfortable to drive in Sport+

Sport + will do its job to keep it in a lower gear higher RPM. Im not sure if there is an EXACT top gear but typically what I've noticed it doesn't like to go past 6th or 7th which is why its not ideal to use on highway speeds. However you can use paddle shifters for full manuel mode and go into any gear up to 9 for V6 or 8 or 4cyl
If you really want to test your car put it in Sport + and go on the highway to about 70mph then hit the right paddle shifter to shift up and for example if it showed gear 7 then you know it was holding you in gear 6

Typically on the 8 speeds up you need a lot of speed to get into higher gears. Some brands program them out other just raise the RPM requirement to make the upshift. My 2014MY locked out 8th but in the 2015MY they reprogramed it to shift up around 80mph in sport+.
I ride in sport+ & left shifter 100% of the time & have to remember to go to comfort on the highway

Sport plus mode, '6' indicated, paddled up once, '7' indicated.

Needs a 930
If you get to 6th or 7th, then you should probably be in the other modes such as Normal or Sport. Doesnt make much sense to be in Sport+ at that point.
I'm usually in 4th sometimes 5th doing 90 on the hwy, so what you fools are doing in 6 and 7 I have no clue
