Sport+ 2018 V6

Hey,

Does anyone else have the issue where in sport plus mode the car shifts for you? My understanding is Sport will shift for you but Sport plus on the website and from the past is FULL manual and should not be shifting. I can never get past 6,500rpms and it always shifts at about 6,200 no matter what... Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sport Plus is automatic when you first select it, and becomes manual as soon as you hit one of the paddle shifters - the "M" indicator lights up on the dash.

Sport plus is still automatic. It will shift just like an auto at 6200-6500 depending if you are part or full throttle. The only mode that is supposed to let you go to red line is the paddle shifters. You can be in manual mode on any mode from eco to sport plus. The manual will revert back to auto mode in all but sport plus(maybe sport mode too). Even Paddle mode will shift at red line (6800)for you so you don’t bounce of the rev limiter if you miss shift.

To reiterate Sport plus on the TLX is still an automatic you have to engage(just like TSXV6GUY above stated) the paddle shifters first before it will move to manual mode. Once in sport plus and manual mode if you want to go back to automatic just press the D button.

Well said. It is a unfortunate thing as because of that feature under full throttle the shift from 2-3 generally never stays in VTEC. I had one run in the 1/4 where it stayed in vtec on the shift from 2-3 and hit 14.4 and they all the other runs when it didnt stay in vtec from 2-3 where all at 14.6 or 14.7 which is a big difference. This is something that has driven me crazy.

I see that Ktuner states that it can adjust the Vtec window. So you should be able to drop it 500 rpms to 4500 engagement that could probably solve that problem. Anybody with ktuner adjust their vtec window? How low did you set it?

Thanks guys!! I appreciate this! and to be clear i go to sport plus and activate the paddles, which under my assumption would mean full manual mode no matter what but i guess it will still shift for me even tho im using the paddles. a previous acura never did this and i loved having and squeezing that power to the very end. wonder if the dealer could do something in the transmission settings to adjust.
