Screen shots from TLX online ad - 7 colours
I just captured the 7 colours from the TLX online ad. I am not sure that the lighting in the ad really showed off the lines and features of the TLX very well. Anyway, several colours still stand out the best - take a look and see if you agree with me:
Clearly, silver and white stand out as the best colours, IMHO. Then the red is actually not bad. The black and graphite are surprisingly dull. The best dark colour is the black copper colour - it has this depth and warmth that the black lacks, and is more interesting than the graphite on this car. The worst colour has to be the blue!!! Goodness knows why Acura has chosen the blue colour for so many public displays thus far.
I think that a medium metallic grey/pewter would look very nice on this car - somewhere between the silver and the graphite. But of course, I still want the Athletic Red... :-)

I think the general public has become much more accepting of dynamic styling vs. maybe 10 years ago when clean and simple ruled. TLX is very conservatively styled when you compare to some of its polarizing competitors and for some that might be a refreshing choice. It does very little to inspire this soon to be shopper however, but they need to rebuild with their image with core shoppers (not the 5% enthusiast shopper like me and most of us here) and I'm hopeful the TLX gets it done so a business case for a Type S can be made. Acura HAS to create a performance option if they want to remain relevant in this market.

The realism of those colors in the commercial are no more accurate than "building" a car on a website. They didn't use a car in the real colors in those shots, it was all computer generated. The blue there indeed looks terrible but it looked WAY better at the NY auto show.
To get a minimum appreciation of the paint colors we gotta see at least moving HD video of the real colors on the cars and see the different angles. And to get a maximum appreciation of the colors, there is no substitute for seeing it in person.

Acura TLX 2.4 Tech 9-2014
These photos are just too low quality, but it is nice to see the different colors on the car.
First, my favs are black copper and silver, but you can never tell a color unless you are standing in front of the car, all our computer monitors also effect color. I expect in real life the graphite will look a lot better, the red will look blah, since not a real red.
Second, what is up with these wheels, ugh, they are not sporty. I would either get rid of the dark spokes and leave the bright spokes, or do the reverse, but not both.
Thanks for doing this. For all the naysayers on this forum, I for one like what I see, is it as sporty as the concept, nope, but we all new those 20" wheels with center hub was not making it... and a few other lower design things. Overall it is pretty damn close from the concept, and I suspect when the Type S comes you will see more aggressive look.
As usual my 2 issues are most of the wheels except those ones which are we all seem unsure that come with the 2.4 tech or what, (rims are easily changed BTW). Second are the lack of exhausts on back, oh well I will live without it, and suck it up.
What matters at this point are how it drives and pricing, this will really complete the picture.

I agree, still not enough there to tell which color represents the TLX more favorably. IMHO, I also think the rims play a factor in the color choices. Those busy rims off sets the darker more dull colors. The lighter colors could use less spokes or less busy rims that are closer to the rims the proto-type had.

ostrich thanks for the effort. The silver and the white are the colors for this car.
The other colors look like after thoughts... just like the rims that look like chicken carcass leftovers.

I love all the colors except blue and red. Love the styling as well. Looks like a slightly smaller, slightly more aggressive version of my RLX.
Once again, these pictures show that the TLX (and all of their sedans) have to be seen in person. These pictures make the TLX look a bit "stockier" and "meatier" (which I like), whereas other pictures we've seen make it look somewhat slender with awkward angles as it moves to the rear.

I like Black and White. The white door panels remind me greatly of the 2G Lexus IS

bland
when I saw the TLX concept in Vancouver I was rather impressed, one of the best looking sedans at the show. But yes the production car in comparison looks bland, but I don't think it's so bad because the potential is still there, all the lines are the same.. All the car needs is to be lowered, a nice set of wheels, and you'll have a killer looking sedan.. I bet people will be a lot happier when you start seeing some modded TLX's out there.. there is a lot to be said about a cars shoes and stance, makes such a difference and the stock height and wheels just don't do it justice.. Look at a 2009 BMW 750 without M-sport, looks rather bland.. but the following years M-sport models look great..

Love the silver. That'd be my choice.
