Question about synthetic oil that Acura uses.

So I went in for a scheduled oil change today and saw that synthetic blend wasnt used, but instead they used full synthetic. What I found odd was I was only charged $42. So I ask which brand oil do they use and the service advisor tells me Totel full synthetic.

Has anyone ever heard of that brand?

Its a French Multinational. About #4 in the oil industry.

Is it Totel or Total? It sounded like he told me Totel but upon googling it, all I see are results for Total.

it's a variation of the way people say "total"

i've heard different variations... totAL, totel...
I personally put the emphasis on the front part of TOtal

That's a real good price for a full synthetic oil change.

I’d just wish the service advisor at Acura would have informed me that they weren’t using the factory honda/Acura motor oil. Don’t let me assume I’m getting genuine Acura oil when you’re not.

Welcome to the world of oil is oil as long as it meets the spec. Since HONDA is not a oil company, like all the rest of the car companies who have branded oil, someone packages oil for them, could be Total.
