New Owners- Did you order the FREE factory manuals?

Not sure if all are aware but within the first 6 months of purchase or even lease (I think) you can get the "full" 550+ page owners booklet, 200+ page Nav manual and also the warranty manual shipped to you for free. These are the in depth manuals that do not come with the car at the dealership. All you need to is register on the acura website here, then click on Instructional Guides and Videos, then click on the Manuals and Warranties tab and check off the ones you want. You do have to enter your VIN. It takes about a week but these are nice to have.

I hadn't seen this mentioned here so figured would post it if it helps anyone out and anyway for recent buyers its free.

Wow, didn't realize they don't include these with the purchase anymore.

I believe you get a CD version of the manual with the car. It's cheaper and more "earth-friendly."

When you buy an Acura you still get owners manual and other warranty information. Whats different about this that you don't already get?

These are the full manuals, the ones that come with the car are basic and have very little info in comparison.

The manuals are all online. Why do we need to cut down more trees??

Just download the PDFs and save to iBooks. It'll always be there on your phone.

The CD version that comes with takes 200 years to decompose, paper can decompose in as little as 2 weeks in the right circumstances. In the time it takes one cd to decompose a whole forest can be grown, harvested and grown again. I get the green thing but when your not buying an ultra high mpg car opting to forgo the manual is not even a drop in the bucket of being green. Of course the cost of the CD is pennies but the impact is much greater overall. It can also be recycled easily and may even be printed on recycled paper. For the most part people that have the paper manual read it and keep it for the life of the car and pass it to the next person and at some point it most likely gets recycled or even if not doesn't take two centuries to decompose. To each their own but I generally go through the manual and keep it in the glove box for reference. Then when I sell the car I give it to the new owner. Never had one person say I will look it up on my phone, keep it.

I have copies of the e-manuals on my iPhone and iPad to carry with me at all times. Who needs paper? However, this is good info for those who desire paper.

Well - since the CD comes with the car you can't exactly "trade off" the CD for paper. You're adding paper to the CD already included with the car. I'd rather have the glove box space actually... But good to know there's an option.

Yes, I never opened the CD on my type S but used the manual many times that I kept in the glove box. When I got the TLX I did notice that the manual folder seemed very thin and after looking through it there was not all that much info in it. I think the navigation manual they mailed to me was larger than all the manuals that came with the car. Speaking of the navigation I don't understand why when you get a message it comes up on the screen but when you select read you it tells you that you have to not be driving to read the message. I guess the apple/android auto remedies that. I also like that I could enter an address in the "old" acura while driving where I have to use the voice in the TLX which is ten times more dangerous as its still menu driven but voice instructed and not very great at that as it takes way longer and is much more distracting than the old system since you still have to look at the screen and it takes me at least 3 to 4 minutes to get it close to the right address..

Ordered mine today. I really find paper back book handy when it comes to working on my car. I know people like to jump to conclusions on printing and saving trees but hey..I will think about it when that 10Lb defunct phone directory gets delivered to my doorstep.
Thank You OP for finding the link.

2018 Manuals availble now

Just bumping this as the 2018 free full manuals are finally available online for anyone within 6 months of purchase. As of a few weeks ago you could only get up to 2017 so they finally made the 2018 available.

I ordered mine. Thanks. I usually try to be all paperless but I think it's always a good idea to keep the paper manuals in the car just in case.

FWIW - I don't believe the 6 months is in place or perhaps not enforced. We bought a used 2016 RDX Advance in February 2017 from a non Acura dealer. I ordered the manuals as described by jhb31 in this thread in August and they came about 3 weeks later. I believe, but am not positive, that so long as your VIN hasn't been registered/used on the site, you will be able to order the manuals.

This is very nice to have, Just ordered my 2018 TLX booklets and saved them to PDF as well.
Not sure how to add them to iBooks though on my iOS devices.

Its pretty simple, just go to the manuals website and open the PDF in safari, then you should see the options button and select "open in iBooks". From there it should save a copy.
