More info on I4 powerband in Hargett interview

Haven't seen this posted here, and I apologize if it's a re-post, but Temple of VTEC has a video interview with TLX Chief Engineer Mat Hargett, in which he says the TLX's I4 delivers 10% more torque across its powerband than the I4 in the TSX. This is the only place I've seen any info beyond the peak hp and torque numbers.

The TLX's peak torque isn't 10% higher than the TSX's peak torque, but if this means 10% more area under the torque curve generally I think it will deliver solid low/mid rpm performance with the 8DCT.

Not surprising since that's what direct injection can get you - ~10% more torque across the whole rev range.

That 10% extra torque + 3 extra gears + DCT would go a long way to improve performance.

Is this the one where he can't remember how to convert liters to gallons? If so, yes, it's been posted. lol.

He also mentioned that they're getting a multiplication effect from the torque converter itself.

Waiting for Jeff's Part 2 of that interview, which might be even more interesting. :-)
