Lease offer
Hey guys,
I just got a lease offer from an local Acura dealer on a 2015 Acura TLX with sh-awd and tech package. Lease details are...
15k a year
Taxes and motor vichecle fees are due at signing. Which is like $2500
$437 a month.
Would like to hear feedback on what everything thinks... Thanks in advanced!

Is that enough miles for you?
Do you have the money for the fees at signing?
can you afford that per month?
If the answer is yes to all of the above, it's a 'good deal'.
if not, go back to drawing board.

They are giving them away. You could lease an advance shawd at 38 months for $385 before taxes with only registration out of pocket. Pretty amazing for a 46k car.
By the way, 2500 in taxes and registration??? Holy cow. It's only around $500 here in socal, and thats with dealer processing fees

Unless you can write your lease off as a business expense, leasing is a crappy deal for the regular joe consumer- especially if you're going to put 15k miles a year on a car. If you're unable to do the business write-off, I would really think about what you're doing.

$2500 sounds about right if you factor the Capitalized Cost Reduction and the registration fees along with the first monthly payment. I live in CA too. We leased our Leaf and fees came to $1471 on a 29k car- so $2500 on a 46k vehicle seems pretty close. In fact, my lease agreement shows $2482 as the total for estimated fees and taxes over the term of the lease.

Cap cost is the difference between the purchase price of the car and the cost at the end of the term of the lease. If you take the purchase price of the car less the down payment and residual value, you will approximate the capital cost of the car.
What I quoted was the tax on the cost of capital and not the top line capital cost. People that lease cars are paying a tax on the depreciation of the car from purchase time to lease termination. This is one of the main problems of leasing a vehicle- which is you're paying the tax on most of the depreciation of the car up front and can't amortize that cost over a longer time frame like you might if you actually bought the car.
There is no free ride for not making a down payment- the OP is still going to need to pay tax on the portion of the car that depreciates during the term of the lease. In the OP's case, the monthly payment will be higher than if he paid a down payment which is why the payment is $437 and not $350 which would be more normal if there was a reasonable downpayment made.

You can lease a 2.4 Base for 229 a month, only 40$ more than an Accord sport. Why are they pushing deals so aggressively? I thought they were selling ok? It makes me think there will be some changes for 2016.

Not sure if its nationwide but i dont think dealers will sell that low unless theres an incentive given by acura

EDIT: After seeing above, my $444 is for 15,000 miles. You still say you got $420...so it's at least closer..

even with that as the selling price, I don't see how you get a lease to $420 per month before taxes with zero down and 15,000 miles. The residual value and money factor shouldn't be different at other Acura dealers.
