Just Received Service Bulletin 17-011

I purchased my 2015 TLX V6 within the last three months. Yesterday, I received a notification for service bulletin 17-011 and was able to check the car to verify that my ATF heater is within the range (5/1/15) of units on the list for inspection and replacement. It seems that this isn’t a new issue so any reason the dealer shouldn’t have taken car of this already? I have a trip planned soon and getting the car to the dealer on short notice is annoying at best.

Anyone else receiving this service bulletin in the recent past or present?

I ended talking to the service manager and have an appointment for 8 am tomorrow to get things taken care of. The car also needs a fuel pump related software upgrade.

EE4Life as been posting all TSB's in threads for the various model years. A TSB doesn't necessarily mean you have to take care of anything, though. And I believe I received a letter for that one, but don't recall. I think for serious ones, they communicate with you. If it sounds serious enough, I usually take the car in and question them. The fuel pump related one you mentioned is probably the recent saftey recall.
Here's a link to the TSB's that EE4Life has been posting for the 2015's :

Thanks. I can’t say that I’m impressed with the dealership not taking care of it before selling it, but at least the service manager gave me my pick of appointments to get it taken care of.

We just got back from a 1,600+ mile trip and after reading through the Service Bulletins I will be going in for 16-012 because we definitely have the surge while braking and the transmission feels like it should downshift a little quicker. It really feels like the transmission is upshifting when I touch the brakes.

One other thing that I noticed is that the brake disks seem to rust up faster than just about every other car in the parking lot. The disks have more rust on them than I would normally expect, but it wasn't significantly different from many of the used Acura's on the lot (and not the worst by far), but we were in the rain quite a bit on the trip and in the mornings the face of the rotors showed surface rust while the other cars in the parking lot didn't. There must be something different with the material used by Acura for the brake rotors that are more susceptible to surface flash rust which would make sense given the rust showing in other places on the rotors where the pads don't remove it during normal use.

The service bulletin made a definite change and improvement in the transmission feel. Hopefully, it’ll be good for a while now.
