Just Got The Call - New Dealer Info!

I just received a call from Naples Acura telling me that they have 9 TLX enroute for sale beginning Monday August 3. 3 are already presold. I asked him some pricing info for V-6 Tech and he said 39.2k MSRP with aggressive leasing pricing at inception (349/month with $2.5k down/36 months/10k miles. Sorry but I didn't ask about other trim levels. He is going to check his inventory for color combos coming and give me a call back. Anyway it looks like the wait will soon be over for all of us!

yeah, I have to admit that the price point is what I hoped. I am happy that they did not price themselves out of the market. Audi, Lexus and Infiniti are probably not real happy with the competition that is soon to arrive.

The only 'fly in the ointment' was the exclusion of leather from the base trim. On the plus side, the Tech is not 'that' expensive and adds a good deal of content that was not present before. LDW, LKAS, BSI, Crosstraffic Monitoring, and of course Navi and Leather.

I guess the reports of a 49k TL was a little off. Too bad no leather as standard equipment on the 4 banger. Colin, is it the same way for the 3.5?

I believe so. I think its stupid, but it is the same for RLX and RLX Navi. You have to get Tech to get leather. On the plus side, there seems to be some uniformity between the Tech Package across the three drivetrains.*

*I only say this because I haven't seen any "*" denoting exceptions...

I feel like this car is priced right, especially compared to the pricing of the TSX and TL. But leather should be standard. Pretty sure they'll sell more TLX's with tech than base.

Ya that is a good starting price and glad they quoted with the destination charge (or at least is says MSRP but who knows - it could be MSRP "lite") - lots of new and relatively inexpensive competition out there. Overall the pricing looks good.

I'll take a white/black SH-AWD Tech please

Any word on Lanewatch camera system or is it just a crummy BSI? I really like that feature on my Accord.

So with leather out of the option unless the tech package is offered, will the seats be cloth or a leather-ette?

Also ill assume Backup camera is standard or as is with the 4G, you need to buy the tech package?

very happy about the $30,995 pricing. As someone who is very young and new into the car market but would like to keep and hold onto a car for at least 6-9 years...this might be my option.

Maybe I'm missing it, but no standard leather means "fake leather", not cloth, right? in which case many may not mind if the fake stuff is decent enough.

This is also interesting because a couple of weeks ago my dealer here in the DFW area told me they'd be getting 9 cars also.

99% certain backup camera will be standard. Honda seems to be anticipating a mandatory DOT requirement.

From http://www.acuranews.com/channels/ac...antage-program :

Standard Features
Unlike other luxury vehicles in its class, the TLX offers a number of compelling features as standard equipment across the TLX lineup, including Jewel Eye™ LED headlights, Smart Entry and pushbutton ignition, rearview camera, Hill Start Assist and more.

There is an * to indicate that destination charge is extra. $895 for all 50 states.

It really does seem like Honda is getting the camera and Acura's get the radar based BSI. On the plus side, BSI works on both sides. I haven't driven with Lanewatch yet, but expect to have it in the Fit EX when we change the CR-Z later this year.

They haven't said definitively, but my guess is leatherette like the RLX. Yes, the cameras are now standard across the board.

3 are already pre-sold? Am I the only one who thinks there is something odd about this? How can anyone buy a car without driving it first, not to mention, probably not even seen yet? This isn't an iPad!

Lots of people have faith in the brand (they've obviously not here on AZ) and could put a deposit on a car without driving it. I'm sure if there was a fatal flaw they'd get their deposit back.

I was one of those and am very pleased with these price points. Now they need to fix the RLX and they may have a decent line. A Type-S Advance at $46-48K would be a nice option. Now we need ronjon to get a car and get a grille and aero package.

I don't know if any had been pre-sold already, but when I went to my dealership a few weeks ago, the saleslady had told me that they were getting 9 cars and that they already had a "list" of people waiting for the car. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been desposits placed already.

BTW, that pricing, for me, is outstanding from the looks of it. Assuming the rest of the car remains what I want after I take a look at it in person, and Acura doesn't pull a electronics SNAFU like Infiniti did with its Q50, it's looking more like I'll be in a TLX in the next 2 or 3 months.

Wow, unbelievable. That is better pricing then I thought, but not far off. So basically leatherette standard makes sense, most others already do this, and if it is good, sometimes people prefer as well.

But let me get this straight, buy a 2.4 Tech for 35 or a 3.5 for 35.....aahh the decisions.

My 4th just got a whole lot more interesting.

Any news about Canadian pricing?

(my guess, the 3.5 SHAWD Advance no more than the Q50S AWD at $47,450... but then again they are giving away those Q50's for free these days... LOL)

Good job acura! Like many others, this was the big variable (that and the fact that the car has great driving manners) that will decide whether I get a TLX or not. However, I ideally would like to get the SHAWD but dont think its worth the extra 7k.

Ok, so trying to plan ahead... I'm thinking of getting the TLX 3.5 base without tech. MRSP of 35,220. For those more experienced buyers, how much am I looking at when it comes to an "out the door" price with tags, taxes, destination, etc after negotiating. Not looking to finance. This will be my first new car and I'm crazy excited! Hopefully it drives and handles like a dream.

Just saw pricing and the special lease deal. It is as if they listened to AZ. I predict it will sell like hotcakes. I could be a TLX lesee at these intro prices.

Given no mention of RLX on 2015 Acura price sheets released today, it looks like no RLX for 2015.

Not to worry, we have '15s on order. (unless they arrive as '16s but that's doubtful)

Any goodies missing from the tech and only available in the advance? Sorry (for my laziness), I assumed the experts here will give me a thorough response.

Great pricing structure in my opinion! Looks like Acura might just have a hit on its hands with the new TLX. I've been rooting for them and still am!

Thanks Colin. The second is almost an essential electronic nanny for newbie / inexperienced drivers. The next two looks important too with the rest being just nice to have.

I hope with the seats, they use really or close to real cow / pig hide instead of the vinyl in the 8th gen Accord.

Just think of it this way.

People buy brand new Ferrari's, Lambo's, McLaren's, etc., that cost 3x to 10x that of a $40K Acura, even when the announced car is only available on papers years before actual production.

There are always some diehard fans who are willing to pay an-arm-and-an-leg, just to drive around in a brand new vehicle that is 1st on the block or even in the city.

Folding rear seats are only included in the advanced?

My 02 Civic has that feature!!!

Just $2,200 extra for the SH-AWD. It's almost a no-brainer for me to go with the AWD version.

Ooo , the prices are spot on. I thought Elite will be over 50K CAD . At this price I'm in IF the test drive is conclusive for me.

So the high-end 2015 TLX 3.5 9AT AWD Elite at $47,490 CDN is cheaper than the outgoing 2014 TL SH AWD Elite at $49,590 CDN by $2,100 CDN !! Interesting. Unless they screw us over and the Elite in Canada is some hyped US Tech version. I hope not.

PS. Maybe they are indirectly predicting the Canadian dollar to go up to par again?
