Those who stick to the brand, in this case Honda/Acura, are usually those who work on their own cars. So, they know what to expect, how to troubleshoot, where to get cheap OEM parts and a new or an old Honda/Acura doesn't scare them. Now, give me a BMW or a Mercedes or a Lexus and I have to invest another 20 years of my life learning everything from scratch! Not going to happen. At least when I looked at the new TLX I immediately realized what the first service bulletin is going to be... (rolleyes)

PS. The funny thing is that people who work on their own cars are not what Acura feels their customer profile should be - lol... so some of us are just Acura misfits hahahaha.

So Honda's/Acura's are really easier to service by DIYers?

Honda's/Acura's dont need a special tool for most of their maintenance.

some other makes, you need this expensive tool.

Yes. It is the main reason why I got stuck with Honda/Acura products. Parts (OEM) and documentation is also very accessible and reasonably priced compared to others. One complaint I have is that if you want to go deep into the computer that runs the electronic fuel injection you'll hit a brick wall of proprietary stuff that is not easy to access unless you work for them and have access to some very expensive electronic tools.

I would put Ford second in my list for access to parts and documentation and give them credit for running their computer systems on a more open and accessible platform... even though their documentation can't match the excellence of the Honda/Acura shop manuals.

Exactly how I felt when I left this forum. I bought the ILX and joined the forum back in 2012 for the fact that forum praised the ILX initially and back than ILX was more of my budget so I decided to buy it with 34k cash and regret every moment of it. I mentioned it to the forum and obviously got obliterated. Now driving a 328i sport and a 320i... THANK GOD.

As much as I want to say never looking back at an Acura again I was at the Vancouver international show and Acura did something extremely smart... They had a huge platform of Acura TLX prototype right in front of the ENTRANCE of the show so it was the first thing that thousands of people will be seeing when they enter the show. It was quite stunning and got me interested in Acura again (the only other two cars that interest me was the MDX and NSX). My gf also really like the red and she said she wants to buy one.

PS. Ironically, I was suppose to sell my Ilx and the deal fell through... Now I have 3 cars. =(

Boring....This video makes me sleepy. He didn't say anything that got me excited about the TLX. I would have thought the lead designer would be more excited about his creation.

I am glad that Acura is switching back to Bridgestone as the factory tire! At least based on this prototype.
