Help Again!!!
I leased a brand new 2018 TLX A Spec AWD (Black with Red Interior) in October of 2017. When I had it about a week or so with less than 400 miles on it, I pulled in my driveway, put on the brakes, then finished a phone call. About three minutes later, I get an error for the cruise control. Then, errors for transmission, emergency break, breaking system, off road mitigation system, impact warning system and two or three other systems flashed. The car starts, but will not go in gear at all. Was told it was a battery sensor. Two days ago, with 10,000 miles, the same thing happened. Dealership changing sensor, but they don't know what else is wrong. Any advice?

A brand new TLX might be brand new to you, but they likely have been sitting at the dealership for an extended period of time. Also perhaps sat on a truck or train for an extended period of time and perhaps also sat at the production facility for an extended period of time, and also the battery might have sat from a prior batch. I would what is the production date of the vehicle and also what is the manufacture date of the battery. The manufacture date of the battery can usually be found imprinted on the sidie of the battery near the top in code form such as might be B7 which would be Feb 2017 or A8 which would be Jan 2018. Either way, I would suggest that you request a different battery to try or you might try putting an AGM battery charger on the battery (slow charge) for 48 hours (with battery disconnected from the vehicles electrical system). This is a pretty common problem with brand new vehicles. The amount of electrical usage is massive and alternator can't always keep up especially when the vehicle is OFF for periods of time, example, sitting on the dealers lot.

Battery is under warranty, but they will only replace it if their battery test tool declares the battery to be faulty. I had to charge my TLX's battery when I took delivery of the car (production date was only one month old).
Most dealers never bother charging the batteries prior to delivery (despite being a PDI requirement). Our cars (AWD versions) are very sensitive to battery performance.

Could be battery or an electrical glitch. Battery would be an easy fix but if it is the latter it could tske some time for the dealer to figure this out, especially if the problem comes and goes. Too many nannies put in cars these days.

Yes, battery is under warranty, but warranty will not pay a tech to check it over and over again. Might just be easier for you to charge the battery over the weekend so you know that it is done right. Before they can replace the battery, they must find fault with the battery. They can't replace a battery on a guess.

Here’s how my issue was resolved:
- Fuse to battery blower fan blew out, causing blower to fail and other lights to fail
- Dealership replaced the fuse and installed a new blower
- Dealership tested battery multiple times to make sure it was properly charged (may charge myself)
