Any software updates needed for a 2015 TLX Advance SH-AWD?
I am one of the lucky owners of a "trouble-free": 2015 Acura TLX Advance SH-AWD, which I bought brand new in Nov 2014, and I now have almost 60,000 miles on the odometer.
I have been pleased with my TLX, and have had it serviced by Acura regularly, but wonder if there have been any software updates that I might need, but have not yet been notified about? I welcome any suggestions on updates that I should request, at the time of my next required/routine service. Thank you in advance for your advice. |
There's a SW update for a recall having to do with the fuel system. Plus there was a SW update a couple years ago for the Nav/Entertainment system.

If you are satisfied with how the tranny works now, I’d leave it alone. |

I have an occasional hard 1-2 or 2-3 shift, and I’m due for a trans oil change per maintenance schedule. Would that service be likely help or hurt the shift issue? I’m hesitant to let them do a SW refresh on the transmission from what I’d read here prior of it making things worse. Thoughts? Thanks 👍🏻 |
I did a transmission fluid change (drain and fill) BEFORE taking it in for the SW update. I did not notice any difference after the SW update and I feel the Transmission fluid change smoothed things out a bit.
I also have been driving the car everyday pretty much for 3yrs so I may just be used to how the transmission shifts now. I did take it into the dealership a couple times to point out the rough shifts but the last time I brought it in before the fuel pump software update it seemed to have smoothed out. |
