Acura TLX 2015 price drop

Hello,
With the 2017 Acura TLX coming in, Acura will try to clear some space from their dealerships. How much of a price drop would a used 2015 Acura TLX which is 25k right now go for at the end of December? Not to mention end of the year annual sales bonuses by the employers for how many cars they can sell.

right, NO One knows. your best bet is to inquire at the dealership!!
and then play the negotiating game.

if a current Acura TLX is $25k like you say, that itself is already pretty low.
arent they like $35-40k??? that's more than 10 thousand dollars off..

sounds like you're buying too much of a car!!

It has 15 thousand miles on it. The 2016s are around 30-40k but on cars.com there are multiple 24-27k 2015 TLX's with tens of thousands of miles put into it already.

Indeed it's used. Should've included that my apologies. I'm 19 so I have to wait until my dad gets his bonus though which is why I have to wait for December.

time and mileage affect used cars.
the more you wait, the cheaper the cars will become!

OP is looking at a used TLX, based on his post. Most smart franchise dealers (ie ford, acura, lexus, etc dealers) have their "online" price that many more or less refuse to budge from, even just a couple hundred (They will essentially let you walk out unless it's been on their lot a long time and they are prepared to auction it). Their "list" or "retail" price is usually $2k or $3k higher, but they oftentimes just put their best price on the internet since so many people shop online now and if they put a high price, they'll lose out big time to a ton of potential buyers. Generally, the "clearing out" is more for the new cars on the lot, not used cars.

If they have a competitive internet price for its trim/condition/mileage and it's a desirable model and color combo, it'll easily be gone in a couple weeks. I purchased my TL used from an Acura dealer and it was on the lot for 3 days. My friend just purchased an IS250 from a Lexus dealer that was on the lot for 5 days, both were very competitive internet prices.

Hundreds of 2015s on lots actually... Pohanka alone has ~15 new 2015s, and cars.com (not the most reliable way to search new inventory, i know) has 424 new 2015 TLXs listed. Some have none, some have a handful left.

424 new 2015 TLX's available for sale. Dats crazy.

Is this a case of Acura building "products that does not match what consumer wants." ?

Used cars always have some negotiating room built into the pricing. Many different factors will go in to how much you can get them to discount it. Things like how long it's been on the lot, which day of the month it is, how many they have on the lot, how close they are to making quota, etc. Take someone with you who has experience negotiating a good price.

One hell of a car for a 19yr old...looking at i4 or v6?

If you have to wait til December then asking how much prices would be now is moot. December is a whole 4 months from now, prices will drop even further and I'm sure wherever you look there will be some sort of "holiday special" tagged onto it to.

Until then, do your research about the car and the prices they're going for now.

^its clear that he was thinking that used cars price coincided with New cars release.
which isnt the case.

time and mileage affect used cars! the longer he waits, the better the deal!

Don't buy a 2015 TLX. Don't say you weren't warned.
