its late and I don't have the paperwork in front of me. Dealer gave excellent offers on this V6 TLX and and a 2016 ILX ($26k+ IIRC). We'd looked at a similarly equipped Accord, but that dealer would only come down $500 from MSRP. Acura dealer Came down about $4400 which priced it very near the Accord. Manager was the friend of a friend. Its DW's car, and she probably would have gone for the ILX, but she took in consideration I wanted the larger frame and engine.

Well, it's hard to say, really, what I paid for it. I didn't include my trade in that price at all. My trade wasn't in the best condition (some stupid person apparently missed the parking spot next to me a few years back... twice..., and caved in both of my left-side doors pretty bad -- not bad enough so that they don't work, but bad enough to significantly lower the trade-in value. As you can imagine, they were nowhere to be found when I came out to my car), yet the dealer offered me more than Dealer Retail (not trade-in... Retail) for that car is "Good" condition. Realistically, that means they didn't really offer me much for the trade, but sold me the car for less and shifted the numbers -- a very common trick, since it makes the car more expensive if I decide to pull the trade for some reason.
The price on paper is really closer to $41,500 (I rounded up), but if I were to adjust that price based on what they realistically gave me for the trade, rather than what they *said* they gave me, it was probably much more like $38,500.
Normally, I work out the price before I even start discussing trade-in value, but in this case, I really didn't expect to be buying a car. I was just test driving it to make sure it was the car I wanted, and was planning to come back in Jan-Feb, when you can usually get a better deal. However, both the salesperson and sales-manager seemed particularly desperate to sell the car. Including the trade, they met the price I hoped I'd get in Jan-Feb, even though I was dealing on a car they had to get from another dealer.
Did I pay too much? Maybe... but I'm pretty happy.
