3rd brake light cover removal

3rd brake light cover removal
How does the 3rd brake light cover come off the TLX? I put a 10" JL W6 in the car and already fixed the rear deck rattle with the sock method from the thread I seen here. Lately it's had a bad rattle on the mid bass notes and I finally found out that it's the 3rd brake cover. I can put my hand on it and it completely stops. I was thinking of pulling it out to put some sound deadening material on it to hopefully stop it completely.
Does anybody know how this comes out? Another member here recommended me to pull the whole rear deck and Dynamat it and thought it was fix it. Great suggestion however I was hoping to not remove the rear seats and so on to do that lol!
Has anybody had this problem? It has a busted speaker rattle sound to it. Before anybody says something about the W6 the gain is pretty much turned all the way down on the amp lol
Thanks,
DW

Thanks for posting this - I’m interested in removing the brake light for tinting purposes. Does anyone have instructions on how to properly remove the headliner? I’m worried in case ‘pulling’ it causes creases

No need to remove the entire headliner - just pull it gently to access the bolts (but leave the headliner in place). There don't seem to be anything critical in the 3rd brake light area, but you need to be careful as to not causes creases.
