3 months into my 2018 2.4 ASpec Elite

So I am 3 months into my 2018 2.4 ASpec Elite and I thought I would comment on a few things:

1. I am loving the changes to the Infotainment system, particularly with respect to the processing speed, the better menus, and the Apple Car Play functionality. Today I drove an RDX Platinum Elite as a loaner after bringing in our 2014 Altima for winter tires swap out. this was the third time I've driven one and I do like the RDX a lot, and think the true position touch pad is pretty darn cool. However, I could not figure out how to set up my Sirius pre-sets, took me longer to pair my phone, and in general, made me appreciate the two screens just a little more. No doubt, as I am fairly tech savy, i would come to appreciate the system in the RDX the more I used it.
2. As I posted elsewhere, I thoroughly enjoyed my 14 plus hours of driving at 75-80 mph to Minneapolis and back. Lots of passing power when I needed it, excellent gas mileage, and a quiet smooth ride WITHOUT vibration...and very comfortable seats. I usually do not like driving that many hours, especially after a weekend of fun with 7 friends, but it was relaxing. The ACC was a particular joy.
3. One small issue - the TPMS system is fine, but a little unnecessarily complicated in terms of knowing the right number of beeps to indicate the correct pressure, or too much pressure, with the car running. My wife's Altima is nice and simple - the hazards start to flash when the tire is close to the correct pressure, and the horn beeps when at the correct pressure. I was easily able to fill all tires quickly to the exact same pressure. This is not a big deal, but worth a mention.
4. The walk away locking is a nice feature.
5. The back-up camera is clearer than my 2016, especially at night. The screen settings for different types of parking are quite helpful, and the surround camera helps ensure I am properly positioned in the spot (important for my car's safety, and in consideration for others, as I often rail against poor parking jobs). The ability to avoid obstructions at the front of the car, such as high curbs, is also a great feature with both the sensors and the front camera.
6. My passengers and I are enjoying the grip and comfort of the Alcantara inserts. So far, they look great, but I keep a brush in the car and a cloth in case of spills/
7. Glare reducing side mirrors are another nice feature that is new to me.
8. ..and it does all this while being a looker!

There are other things,

Glad to see you're loving the car... How's the mpg been? Have you had an Acura before?

For the trip to and from Minny of about 900 miles in wintery weather - 7.0 litres/100 km. Which included some pretty strong head winds on the way back. City driving is around the 10.2 rated number, unless it's rush hour.

I've had a few - 2009, 2010, and 2012 TSXs, 2015 3.5 TLX SH-AWD Tech, 2016 2.4 TLX Tech, and now this one. My favourite on many levels of the 6.

A very nice combo. I wonder if there Is a noticeable difference between my Bellanova White Pearl and your Platinum White Pearl. Can't tell online.

Almost a week with my white/red A-Spec and loving it more and more. The ELS speakers already sound better after a few hours of break in. Gas mileage isn't where it needs to be but I understand it's still the break-in period and I probably won't see true MPG until after the 1st oil change. I got into this TLX as a lease but I might invest some time and properly condition the leather and ceramic coat the paint in case I take the option to own this car long term. Also went to the LA Auto Show this weekend and really didn't see any luxury sports sedans that tickled my fancy unless they were priced $10-15K above my TLX purchase price.

I do find that the ECO mode for traffic situations actually makes a difference, so I am starting to use it a little more when there's no need or option to accelerate quickly. I generally leave it in Normal mode most of the time, and use Sport for highway and other low traffic higher speed limit roads.

Nice post and happy folks on this thread!

I too just got my shiny new black 2019 2.4 TLX Tech ASpec 2 days ago and I couldn’t be happier. The vibrating SH-AWD is GONE!!! Brought a tear to my eye to cruise down the highway at 120 km/h nice and smooth....DCT is a dream over th ZF9 tranny.

I will miss some of the Elite features but I gain some new things in the ASpec and this being a 2019 model vs my previous 2016 — more than makes up for it.

Nice, what color combo?

I just conditioned the leather and waxed the exterior of my week old Platinum White Pearl A-Spec.

Congrats on joining the growing club of happy 2.4 members. I didn't have the vibration issue with my 2015 SH-AWD, but I do much prefer the 8DCT and really enjoy the quick smooth shifts. Did you go with the black leather/Alcantara or the red leather interior?

I went with the black leather/Alcantra. I really like the all black look...albeit the red looked pretty sweet too. Did my first highway trip this weekend to Montreal and back. Love that DCT and the ASpec suspension! Smooth on the highway. You don’t notice the creep up to 130 and 140.... gotta watch it. Sufficient power to pass but you can tell the difference vs the V6 - to be expected. Very happy one week into it. Getting snow tires on tomorrow - about time! Toyo Observe GSi6 on 18” all black alloy rims. It’ll be the best dressed car in winter!!

Tried to post some pictures last time but for some reason they wouldn’t upload on an iPad.

I had a 2013 328i before my 2019 TLX 2.4. Still loving your TLX?

yes, absolutely.

sucks that the community is small and the car sells low numbers that there isn't aftermarket parts to really customize but my car is a lease anyways.

I lease as well....and keep thinking about adding the illuminated sill plates.....although to keep the cost down it would likely have to be a DIY project - which I suspect would be beyond my capacity to do so.

4 months in and 3K miles later I decided to oil change my TLX at a local independent. I know I didn't have to until 7K but I got tired of the poor mpg that new cars have before their 1st oil change so I figured I do it.

used my own oil and paid $26 for labor, waste management fee, and oil filter. after watching numerous reviews about Amazon Full Synthetic 0w-20 I went with it as it cost around $22 shipped for a 5 quart. after finding out the oil filter used was a shitty cheap all paper Fram equivalent I decided to buy it on my own for the next time. BTW, Napa has an all month sale on their Napa Platinum filter (rebranded Wix premium) costing $5 when it's usually $12.; their full synthetic oil (rebranded Valvoline) is also on sale for $16.

BTW, after watching tons off synthetic oil comparison vids I really wouldn't mind using Walmart's Supertech synthetic oil for $16 (5qt) either. it rated very well in comparison with Mobil 1.
