225 50 R18 to 235 50 R18
Hello Guyz,
Greetings, My first post here
I wanted to know if i can switch out the factor 225 50 R18 with wheels to a new set of tires (235 50 R18) and wheels ? I dont see any problem apart from speedo issues, wanted to ask the pros here.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

According to my favorite tire size comparator, you are adding 0.2" of sidewall and the speedo is barely off, by around 1 mph. You're probably OK. What is your goal in doing this? This assumes your are really trying to stay at 18" but getting wider tires.

A few things to look at. Check current clearances full left/right with some weight in the car. Go to Tire Rack & look up the dimensions of the tires you have & what you are looking to use to see if the clearances are still good. You need the exact measurements as there is no standard in the industry & not all 235's are the same physical size.
Ran 255's Yoko's on my TL. Thing is one of the guys had 275 GoodYears & my tread was a 1/4" wider. Also ran 245/275 on one of my BMW's stock was 225/255

I thought narrower tires are better for snow, so unless you are getting the 235 cheaper than 225 not sure if its worth it.
