2019 Acura TLX 2.4 vs. 3.5

That is a typical dipstick argument. Early 2015 maybe some 2016 ZF9 had programming issues, that ZF8 introduced, 4 years before, didn't have in 2015. *Big deal*. Of course, that remains the preferred TLX trolls argument from kraut-mobiles owners who come here obsessionally only about this. How stupid. You should [righty] be embarrassed. I suspect substance abuse in the other cases.

Anyway, regardless of how you feel about the ZF9, I definitely prefer the DCT, but every buyer on the market for a TLX should try both.

Now, you have a ZF8 in your nice B9 S4, which Audi chose over the B8 S4's DCT. You feel that you the S-Tronic was somehow better? There is no objective data to support that.

There's not rules regarding what we drive now. I'm a huge Honda fan and I always have been. The subject of this thread is 2.4 vs 3.5. It's not super simple, but IMHO
- 3.5 has a better engine
- 2.4 has a better transmission
- Obviously the 3.5 is the only one available with SH-AWD

The 2.4 8spd DCT is a great combination!

Right. It's a little down on power and torque for its segment, but that DCT is better than the one in the A4, IMHO. Now if they would iterate it to the 2.0T Honda uses in the Civic Type R we're talking.
240-280 hp and similar torque.
Then a turbo 6 for the big guns. Although I doubt that happens.

Interesting, Robert is on the BMW 3/4 series board getting hammered for knocking the Audi A4 in a Genesis G70 thread.

General G70 consensus is so far nice car, good value but they need to do something better on the dealer end to effectively compete.

Seems like that’s an accurate assertion (re: Hyundai’s ability to compete)

FWIW. Bought the Genesis R-Spec Coupe from a Hyundai dealer down by Charlotte, about 200 miles out for price. Its been serviced (free maintenance deal) & state inspected at the local Hyundai dealer twice. Both physical plants & employees were 9 on a 10 scale, maybe a Southern thing. Would prefer for them to have unique operations but in both cases they were similar to the BMW stores.
Could be the Mega dealer thing, they both have Auto Mall operations & sell most brands including BMW, Porsche, Acura, Range Rover, Jaguar etc. On the R-Spec would swap seats with it for the COBRA in a heartbeat.

This nut I was responding to needs to be on AZ dismissing the TLX , same kind of unfounded argument. Of course his "virtual cockpit" was a lame answer, It has nothing to do with the over-simplistic B9 dash design and pedestrian door trims I was mentioning.
Yes I do like the G70, although I find it funny that its 2.0Toy doesn't have better fuel economy than a 2006 325i manual. Kids don't care, *at all*. Stupid fashion again.
I still think the TLX 3.5 circa 2018 has a strong case, value-wise, even if not the best. Totally HATED the engine in the A5 2018 S-Line I was driving last week. Not surprised that the Germans extort their customers but imposing a 9-10K for getting a 6-cyl.
Unsure what the Koreans are doing trying to mimic that pattern. No idea why they didn't invest more in luxo-SUV business.

Um.. cars generally also weigh more today than in 2006. All Hyundai's/KIAs are heavy AF. They have access to their own steel to use for their cars and they go to town with it. The G70 is not a sports car. They didn't care about saving weight. Getting slightly worse fuel economy for those who can afford a luxury car, don't exactly sweat having to fill up a day earlier than in a 2006 BMW.
It's hilarious you put cars on the exact same level in each category and make absurd comments regarding them. Surprised you haven't talked about how bad the new NSX is at rock climbing, compared to a Wrangler

And um.. only Acura still really has a V6... For about another year or two. It will be replaced with a turbo. Just you wait and see. Acura isn't ahead of the curve. They're thoroughly behind, trying to catch up.

Oh yes, test drove the 2019 SH-AWD Elite ASpec too. Had same vibration issues. Marginally better but its still there.
Looking forward to 3 years down the line for a more refined TLX turbo with AWD and dual clutch transmission. Please Acura....
