2018 TLX A Spec Radar Install
Has anyone mounted a radar in a 2018 TLX A Spec yet? If so, can you post pics of where you mounted it on your windshield.
I'd like to mount one and hard wire it but I'm not sure how it would work if it were mounted on the black dots near the rearview mirror. |
I use a blend mount attached to my review mirror and an escort muting power cord hardwired with an add-a-fuse.
|
I used BlendMount also but used the SAVY ODB2 plug for my V1 so I didn't have to wire anything. Best method yet I feel for a quick and clean install.
Dont forget to add filters to some of the radar bands so your blind spot, cruise etc dont give all day long false alarms. |
Do you guys have any pics of your setups? I want to see how the Blendmount looks installed.

Where did you find the trim removal instructions to hardwire the power cable? I’m interested in doing this as well but haven’t seen how to remove the trim pieces. Thanks, Levell |

Blendmounts don't fit. I just returned one they said worked for us.

Do you know which blendmount model you used for the TLX ASPEC mirror? Their customer service is telling me they don’t have one that would fit. I purchased a Blendmount model BBE-2031 radar mount with an Escort brand clip mount. |
That's weird.......when I mounted mines it wouldn't stay secure. I called them and they stated that it won't fit since our rearview mirror is the same design as the MDX. Temp_A-Spec.....can you post pics of your setup?

[QUOTE=Carnage719;16364726]Sorry, I'm not on that often and I didn't see your questions. From your recent setup, it looks like you have everything you need. However, to answer the question, my radar detector is powered with an add-a-fuse in the fuse box, not with the Blendmount mirror tap. Therefore, I didn't need to remove any trim pieces around the mirror.
Carnage719.....which fuse did you tap into? |

Carnage719.....which fuse did you tap into? Also, I currently don't post pictures because I'm not signed up with an image hosting site. It was a long time ago when I used to post regularly on a motorcycle forum, so if there's a way to post pictures without using an image hosting site, let me know. |
