2018 TLX A Spec - Potential Buyer
Hey everyone,
Been doing a lot of research in the 2018 TLX A spec. Really seems to be a pretty awesome car from everything I have read in the media. However, after doing some research on these forums, I am seeing tons of issues with it. I understand that people usually only post when there are issues and tend to be silent on forums when they are happy with their car.
So what’s the word? Do you guys recommend I get one? Should I worry about reliability? Are there specific build dates I need to worry about? Any comments, good/bad would be helpful. Thanks!

Isuzu car used to have ton of issues that's why they no longer sell passenger vehicles, 10 years ago BMW, Mercedes cars had tons of issues, Japanese cars are always well made, require minimum maintenance. that why i hate the internet age, too many online opinions, i stopped writing or reading reviews

acura is a honda, honda makes great cars end of story - why ask other peopel, peopel that have tons of issues are either not on this board, or simply sold their cars , and got BMW with really tons of problems. forums is a relly bad place for advice

I drive a 2016 TLX and my car has been very reliable. People seem to want the perfect vehicle with no issues. I do understand that since the TLX is supposed to be in the premium segment. At the same time, if people want a perfect car with no issues, people would be riding bicycles.

I bought my 2018 A-Spec back in October, 2017. I have had zero issues with it, except for an iOS 11 Bluetooth contacts syncing issue (supposedly resolved in iOS 11.3.) I am still very happy with my purchase, and look forward to many years of reliable performance.

That's great guys, this is exactly what I wanted to hear/confirm. Like I said, the forums can create a situation where it seems like there are more problems that there actually is and this confirms it.

Non A Spec here, but am very happy with the TLX, solid, comfortable and refined!

No problems; it's a home run for Acura; best of the 7 Acura's, I've leased since '98
For the money, you can't beat it; Acura/Honda reliability is legendary
BTW: the ZF 9 Speed works great!

I am leasing 18TLX Aspec SHAWD since late November last year. 4500 miles on her now. Took her to ski trip in Mammonth recently over altitude difference of 7500 feet or so in the middle of heavy duty snow storm there (for several days, the car was covered with more than 13 inches of snow on top. Did not have to put on snow cable. ) What a wonderful car! No issue whatsoever with reasonable mpg.
I especially appreciated auto rain sensing feature when it was snowing somewhat irregular way. Handling on snowy surface road was so wonderful.
I am so appreciating this car that I force myself not to drive it too much (currently deficit of 750 miles or so in view of lease contract!).

Vibration was on the highway - felt the same as if the tires were not correctly balanced. Appears to be related to the AWD drivetrain and/or subframe bushings, but apparently it's hit and miss. As some folks mention here, some are smooth and some others vibrate.

Color combo was my 2nd choice, after Still Night Pearl
A-SPEC/RED is awesome; you're gonna love it
A word of caution: get tire insurance, & if available, a doughnut spare
I worked both into my lease; the low profile 19's are great, but potholes will ruin them
So many great attributes for this car; just enjoy
Happy Spring!

I never really liked that combo as I think the rims are too tonal..but looking at your pics, it looks great. I like that body color a lot. Congrats.
