2018 A-SPEC vs 18 Camry XSE
I have a 09 TL advanced and just started looking. This may have been discussed but has anyone driven or compared the new Camry XSE to the TLX A-SPEC. Its sad to put these two in comparison but wow they look alike and the V6 in the XSE has more horses. Just asking, Thanks

I get it I never in a 1000 years would think about the Camry but the white with the black top is nice. Birds eye view camera etc heads up display... I just need to drive it to put it out from my choices.

I've driven both recently.....the Camry was very boring. Have you also considered the new 18 Accord? They should be hitting showrooms soon.

You complain about Audi yet BMW is your number two. Audi is tops in the reliability lists, far above BMW nowadays. Not saying they're bullet proof, but not like they used to be ... same like Acura.

I feel like even though reliability may be better, overall cost of maintenance is still expensive. How much are oil changes, transmission fluid changes, power steering fluid change, brake jobs, new shocks etc? That is where my pockets run short. Perhaps for many even if the car is "bulletproof" you're still getting shot in the wallet by basic maintenance. I could be wrong

I ran one car, 2004 330CI ZHP 6MT, for 10 years. My total out of pocket excluding tires was under $1500. So far since 2004 outside of tires that is my only out of pocket expense on the German cars.

I was scared as a kid with my father dealing with the worst car we ever owned. Audi 5000. Junk! Then we had a BMW lease, father passed away and BMW wrote off the over milage and allowed us to turn it back in, with nothing owed. Thats why BMW is my #1 or #2.

The ES is the real competitor to the TLX. Yet it may evolve in an upper category according to sine rumors. Due as a 2019 model.
The 2018 Accord might come as a surprise, probably next month. But 2.0Toy.

Was just looking through the Lightning Laps edition of C&D saw a very interesting Camry add. Tag line was "this car does not come in beige". Looks like the image change is starting a Toyota.

Can't wait to see your next old, anemic 6 cylinder engine.

I'm going to have to stop you right there. How does a car built near 30 years ago have anything to do with today?
Acura reliability isn't what it used to be.
You're also doing yourself a disservice not even going in and sitting in, or driving an Audi.

The Audi A4 is rated 0-60 by Audi as 5.7 with the quattro AWD system. Nearly every reviewer, for example MotorTrend, got to 60 in 5.5 or less.
So, by definition, the A4 engine is underrated.
That pretty much sold me. The second you sit in it you feel like you're in something special.

I very recently picked up a 2018 Mk3 TTS which has the 2.0T. It's rated at 292 hp and does 0-60 in the low 4s. It's a very nice daily driver. The seats are unbelievable and the Virtual Cockpit is very slick indeed. But the coolest thing, literally, has to be the A/C controls which are built right into the vents themselves. The salesman actually convinced me not to get yet another R8 and give the TTS a try. So far, I'm loving it. Will still get an R8 later though, as I'll most likely give the TTS to my son when he gets his license next year.

There's definitely something special going on at Audi these days.

I too start to like Audi cars but the because of the whole VW and their reliability, I am still sitting on the sideline watching
