2015 TLX spotted

To further illustrate this, Consumer Reports recently tested and evaluated the new RLX. They found it to be uninspiring and could NOT recommend it like they do all the other Acura models. Furthermore, the new ILX cannot be had with a 6MT and navigation in the same car. WTF are the folks at Acura smoking?
The most common new car I see on the roads nowadays is the 2013 Accord. I'm seeing them practically everywhere.

I agree. The way Acura puts their packages together is ridiculous. Same with the 4g. You can't get a 6mt with the advanced package. Why the F not? Then again its not like I'm buying a 4G anyway.

Well, that settles it. 07/08 TL-S 6MT is what i'm buying as my next purchase. I'll still keep my 6MT Legend GS and my wife will keep her 04 RL. I was waiting to see what it could possibly look like and I'm not too impressed.

How could you know? No one has seen it yet.
How about we wait for official release photos before we pass judgement.
Granted, it'll likely take a lot of cues from the RLX. But that picture above is not a TLX.

Hopefully there are some changes under there. I actually like the latest accords. The Acura models though... I've been waiting for the 5g reveil before I decide what to do on a new car. The new IS350 is starting to look pretty good....

Really hope they make the 2015 a sportier car. Just like the 3rd TL.
Acura knows that the 3rd gen was their best selling car. Now if they make it RWD and give it 6mt option, and I'll trade my 2014 IS350 F-sport for the new TL.

Acura vs Audi
I have recently driven about 20 different luxury cars INCLUDING a 300 mile drive through the mountains in an RLX... NO, its not an AUDI, but it's pretty sick. I was driving 90 through the Feather River Gorge and it did not disappoint. And at a fraction of the upkeep cost of a german car... IF the TLX uses the same engine and all wheel steer, it will be a great value at $40K

Why bring him down? I've been paying attention and I've hadn't seen that picture yet.
Thanks for the post.

compared to a Lexus?
IS-350 is RWD, has 2 inches less legroom, is at least $5k more with worse gas mileage. These 2 cars really don't compare. I think the IS350-f is the sportiest Japanese 4 seater available. (excluding Subaru which can't match Acura or Lexus for reliability and refinement) I also find it to be the ONLY Lexus that doesn't bore me to death.
TL= a well equipped, fair priced, smallish mid size sedan. AND... There's just NO WAY Acura replaces both of their mid level sedans with a sporty version... We may love that idea, but US sales would plummet

The 3G was a sporty semi-luxurious touring car. There is no reason that formula wouldn't work now as it did then.
Basically, cater to the 25-40 crowd and not the 40-60.

The new 3IS are or at least can be had in AWD. Not sure if that's default or an option but it's there. It has a higher output motor (although is underpowered imo) and the technology in the new Lexus' are crazy.

Yeah I'm not too impressed with the ILX. I definitely don't like the back of the car at all.
This thread makes me wish I hadn't traded in my 06 5AT and kept it along with the TL-S I drive now.

I have to agree with what is being said about the Accords... The 2013+ generation Accord is probably the best looking one they've ever made. That thing is a sexy beast, I just feel bad that they have CVTs instead of automatics unless you get the V6. And to be blunt with all of you, if I were to buy a car on styling alone, I would go for the Accord over the TL.
The 4G TL is pretty vanilla as someone stated. As for making the 1G TLX like the 3G TL? I think that would do more harm than good. I do agree that they should look back and see what was successful, but not try to duplicate the past.
You all have to remember that Acura's design team doesn't base its ideas on consumer preferrence alone. They have an entire market of competitors to consider. They make their cars look similar (even if they are vanilla) to their competitors simply because they think it will attract more buyers to that buyer segment. Does this actually work? Debatable, but going by the numbers I'd have to say no.

4G is vanilla? Seems pretty big and bold imo. And it took 4 years for me to like it.
I saw a white one the other day, 4.5G. It was pretty low with dark tint, no emblems, and nice wheels. It was gorgeous.

Actually, The infiniti G and M cars are pretty vanilla.
they're more soft and rounded and already look outdated, while the TL has very sharp lines and is very polarizing. so much so, that it didnt sell well because of its outlandish and extreme styling.
Look at how all the other manufactures played catch up.
The Lexus IS for example with its predator looking grille is a hit.
Acura was ahead of the game, and didnt know it.
Acura has an identity crisis

I'm going to with-hold judgement until I see it, drive it, then see what people can do with it. I personally HATED the 4g when I first saw it and it kind of grew on me as it really stands out. Once I saw people painting the grills and adding the aero kit and some better wheels, etc, I've literally become obsessed with the look. Dollar for dollar you can't find a sexier car in my opinion and if it's a shawd, forget about it. Sure it's not the fastest or sleekest but Iamatl posted with the pictures (2 of many good shots of the cars) it can look freaking hot.
I hear pretty good reviews on how the RLX does when driving it, as it's more inspiring to drive than stare at. This TLX could very well be the best drive anyone here's ever had in an Acura, who knows? I have a hard time believing Acura can just purposely put out a product they know the majority of the die hard fans will just be disappointed with.

IF you like Acura the Accord does NOT measure up. Interior styling and functionality is weaker, and it just doesn't drive all that fun. BUT why should it? It's not a luxury car... If you honestly want to buy a Honda instead of an Acura, then go right ahead... not me

I am always keeping the good fate with TL.
But I have to say that up to this point, all other competitors make their vehicles look leaner, edgy, and sharper, toner and less fat - :-] sound like I am talking about bodybuilding (Lexus, Infiniti and American brands)
Acura started out perfectly with their 3G generation, all of them look edgy, so lean and sexy.
I believe they just replace some people from their R&D department...so sad.lol

Excellent point on the interior - especially on the electronics. Never understood why they couldn't simplify it with the 'major functions'. I don't need a button, dial, or knob for anything I MIGHT want to do.
