Well, I've got great news...

Even if Acura Eff's up the production TLX our good friends at Audi make a great looking alternative

It's all fun and games until the Audi shits itself at 75,000 miles.

True ;-), but potentially not as reliable.

Actually just one...
I've never paid for an exterior mod such as trim or the trunk spoiler or tail lights or any other thing but I would actually pay extra for a grill mod if I could get something like the photoshopped beakless model. It changes the look (IMHO) from a low end car to a luxury sports model. The beak kinda says - I'm still paying off my college loan.

Cool

I am kinda itching to head to Toronto this weekend to take a closer look at the prototype TLX at the car show there. But then again I am thinking what for? See something that doesn't look anything like whats going to end up in production?

Well, I am still thinking about it... maybe save my nickles and dimes and go to NYC for the real TLX in April...

I don't know why you think that? Won't the production car metal and glass will be exactly what is shown... minus mirrors, wheels and bumper caps. IMO, 2-4 months from debut, the prototype is surely made with production tools and dies. Chassis, sheetmetal and glass have to be final at this point.

Yep, ... minus mirrors, wheels and bumper caps. Thats a lot. The prototype looks sooooo good I am afraid I'll be disappointed when I see the real thing up close... minus mirrors, wheels and bumper caps.

I got a new 50mm f/1.4 lens for my DSLR and I am eager to test it. If the weather is ok on the highway I may decide to go. Anyone else around the TO car show this weekend?

There is a video interview that TOVTEC did and they interview done of the lead designers and basically he said the prototype is production with exception of side mirrors and the front and rear lower fascias. This is typical Honda, so the production car will not be much different, just get the honda bland treatment front/rear bumpers ;-)

[shrug] I guess my interpretation of "doesn't look anything like..." is different than yours. I'm just thinking in broad strokes, it's not as if the contours of the doors, fenders or hood will change. Nor will the roofline or rake of the windshield or rear window. In all likelihood, the relationship of the wheels to overall length will remain. [/shrug] If I could attend one of the big shows, I'd love to!

No worries, would only have it for around 40k miles

Quite possibly, however my 12 TL that's supposed to be the epitome of reliability has alreadybeen to the shop for broken power window switch, and the dreaded torque converter issue. Ive had enough cars over the years to proclaim they all suck.

Yea the metal and glass will be the same, but a lot of the things that really made it catch your eye and say hey that looks great, are the Bumpers, and mirrors which we all fear wont be part of the production car.

Well the problem with thinking of broad strokes is all it takes is one little design mishap to make the whole thing not flow......IE The Beak... to make the car less desirable. Take away the flash and aggressive look that the concept has and give it the "Bland" treatment and you no longer have as desirable a product
