$10-$15k Used Car Recommendation

Returning my 15 TLX next week and am looking for recommendations in the 10-15k range. Really wish the new RDX was out already.

4 doors, handles, sport sedan or small suv.

Previous to my TLX was an 03 TL-S, which I wish I had kept.

Thought?

2012-2013 TSX tech can be had below $15K. Mileage will be around 60-70K though.
FWD TL should be doable too. Less sporty but with a stronger engine, bigger and more luxurious.

I don't have proper clearance; but hopefully another mod can see this and move this to cartalk. You will have better responses in cartalk because most people in cartalk dont have acura's any more and love giving car buying advice!!

Right off the bat i can think of;
- ATS
- CTS
- S4
- Any BMW in that price range
- MB's
- Mazda's
there's literally hundreds and hundreds of cars in that price range with your requirements of 4 doors and great handling...

like literally hundreds and hundreds.

Under 15K can get you a lot of cars! Do you have a mileage or year cap?

Subaru WRX, Golf GTI, Civic Si, Focus ST will all fit the bill of 4 doors and handles well in that price range. Some aren't sedans but hatchbacks are better anyway.

For SUV's you're not going to get handles well for that price point. I'd go for a Forester or CRV.

Wow thanks guys. Lots of good ones to start with. I'm going to stay away from Ford and the Caddy ATS. That back seal is for Oompa Loompas.

My other ride is a MB SL500, so not going to look at hatches as I'd like another for or 5 door.

As for used Audi's in that price range, not sure on the reliability post warranty.

All of those hatches I mentioned are 5 door... I'm not even sure you can get anything other than a Mini or Fiat 500 in 3 door for the US market.

I've seen some 3rd gen (2007-08) TL Type-S's with relatively low mileage (80-90k) for sale with asking prices well within your price range.

If you want RWD, BMW 1-series or 3-series?

Maybe a lightly used Volvo S60? The more recent ones are fairly reliable and good to drive and very safe.

I'm an old ;Volvo guy here. Had 5 of them.. 2-240 sedans, 1 242 Turbo Coupe and an 850. Used to be VEry active in So Cal Volvo community....S60 just doesn't float my boat. I think the new XC40 or S90 are amazing, but too $$$$$

I’m seeing a number of F30 BMWs in that price range. Could be a way to go.

Seriously though, don’t be shy about trying to negotiate sales prices into your range.

Seriously though, I would never buy another Bimmer and I've been buying cars for 35 years. I know how to negotiate. Not my 1st rodeo. ??
