So this is my daily/winter beater. I found a parts car that had a big Borg warner turbo. So I’m going to get a k23 built with better rods and pistons then slap on this turbo and see how much quicker it is. The parts car is in my driveway taunting me. I have no wrenching experience but I am determined. Once the head is off, I just need to take the fenders off and I can send it to the scrap yard.

Parts I have already
Big turbo
Front pipe/dp/intecooler/intake/exhaust
1000id injectors
I think I have a rbc manifold on the parts cars…I don’t know how to tell if I do
oil catch can

Parts to get…this list is growing
K23A1 bored to 2.4L

Manley turbo tuff rods

Weisco 87.5mm 10.2:1 pistons

Golden Eagle sleeves

K20 oil pump

Supertech dual springs/retainers

Stage2 turbo cams
Some type of Haltech ecu
I’ll get the head built while I wait for the short block and work suspension/brakes while I wait for parts.

Hi Acura RDX owners,

We’re CarpuTech, a professional manufacturer specializing in innovative upgrade solutions for Acura and Honda vehicles.

Many Acura RDX models (especially older generations) came with factory infotainment systems that do not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. To bring modern smartphone integration without replacing your original system, we developed a Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto module.

This upgrade is designed for vehicles that originally did not come with CarPlay or Android Auto, while keeping the factory system fully functional.

Key Features:

✅ Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
No cables needed for daily use

✅ Seamless OEM Integration
Works directly with the factory screen and controls

✅ No Loss of Factory Functions
Original radio, settings, steering wheel controls, and more remain unchanged

✅ Supports AirPlay & Mirror Link
Extra smartphone mirroring options

✅ Plug & Play Installation
No cutting wires, designed for Acura RDX compatibility

After installation, you can easily use:

Apple Maps / Google Maps / Waze navigation

Spotify / Apple Music streaming

Hands-free calls and messaging

Siri or Google Assistant voice control

Everything runs smoothly on your factory display, giving your RDX a modern infotainment upgrade while preserving OEM functionality and look.

Had issues with p2646 code so i replaced the VTC actuator on the side of the engine after temporarily removing side engine mount and supporting engine underneath.. so i have the vtec sensor i can also change but while i was working on these issues i unplugged the sensor for the VTC actuator so now VTEC is disabled and RDX is only on FWD mode.

Without AWD and VTEC I drove it 200 miles back and forth for a few hours and i can confirm 23 MPG

Makes sense, the small lobes of the cams are designed for fuel efficiency otherwise called secondary lobes, and not having to transmit power to the back wheels saves a litte bit of energy.

I can see the TURBO is working harder now and takes longer to spool but i can live with this.

So even when i fix my p2646 issue, i am going to miss out on 8 MPG!!! lol my average is around 15 to 17 the way i drive but now i have a reason to shoot for 25! lol

I was lucky to get the last oem parts to get my RDX back on the road with a new turbo.

The stud with the hole is discontinued now so I made my own using a metric stud i had to machine with a hole going through it about 2mm diameter

For the banjo bolt with a filter i would recommend replacing the oem one with one without a filter because at any time your turbo can get oil starvation due to dirt etc clogging the oil passages.
