The transmission shifter normally has an amount of resistance to movement that makes it secure in positions that allow movement without pressing the unlock button. My shifter suddenly became very easy to move. The actual gear shifting is not effected and the linkage between the shifter and the transmission seems to be solid and reliable. The lack of resistance to shift movement means that inadvertent movement of the shifter between position that don't require pressing the unlock button (ex. drive to neutral, reverse to neutral to drive) seems likely and is very unsettling while driving. To help troubleshooting this, my question is...where does the shifter "resistance" originate? In the shifter assembly, in the cable, in the transmission lever...?

Hello everyone, I'm a 2009 Acura TL owner from China, and I'm currently facing a frustrating problem: the "Hi" light on the passenger-side seat heater switch stays constantly on (regardless of whether you press it or not), and the seat temperature keeps rising. I can't turn it off, so I've had to unplug the heater cable from the bottom of the seat and replace the switch with a new one. The problem reappeared after a few days. The ECU diagnostics show no fault codes:what:. I hope someone who has encountered this issue can share a solution. Thank you.
