Switchblade Imobilizer programming GTA

If anyone has any experiance with a dealer and programming the immobilizer post here.

You cannot get it programmed at a Honda Dealership.
Remeber to bring all your keys/fobs because they will program the remote for you and if they do one, you gotta do all of them.

It was hard for me to find a place to program my switchblade for a decent price.

Acura of Oakville - $108 + tax (1 hour of service )
Acura on Brant - $50 + tax

I went to Acura on Brant in Burlington and they took my keys, gave me a dirty look and told me that the key was not ment for my 05 and i said i understand and just program it for me.

She took my keys, 30 minutes later, tech comes out, and says "well what do you know, it does work". Gave them 56.50 and tested out my new kick ass key and it works! No more fumbly keyfob and keys for me!

i'd recommend a local locksmith and make sure you give them the instructions that you got.

you got your key from heeltoe.com right?

double check the milling on the key because i had to get mine sent back and i got marcus to cut it for me.

mine was from a bad batch and the big rail on both side of the keys were too wide about 1-2mm too thick and it wouldn't fit in my door. make sure it fits in your door before you cut it to verify that it will fit.

gimmie a bit, i'll post a picture of what mine turned out like ( the first one )

Nah, I was in the first groupbuy from csmeance last year. My key is good, it fits in all the lock cylinders so it's ready to be cut, just haven't found a reliable souce to do it.

I got a key from csmeance.
Sadly my key is a valet... it only fits into the driver door. It does not fit into the glove compartment or the trunk.

I had the dealership cut my key. It was a perfect cut except by the two stops. It was more round rather than sharp and rectangular.. so I brought it to a locksmith who fixed it free of charge.
I then brought my key back to the Acura dealership [Fairview Acura] [where they had messed up the cut] and had them immobilize my key for 48 dollars.

They were about to purchase me a new key because they 'messed up' my milled key from csmeance.
Really good customer service.

I had pretty decent service from Fairview too, it's where I got my car from. Tho the sales guy did lie about a couple of things regarding the CPO warranty...

The switchblade is a valet? Huh?

Mine needed some light sanding to fit all the key cylinders, did you try sanding it according to the instruction by csmeance?

Yeah, my blacksmith in Waterloo sanded/filed the blade down for it to fit into my keyslot.

The reason why my switchblade is a valet is because the center of the key, of the switchblade, is much wider than the original key.
Because of this... it will not go into the glove compartment or the trunk pass.

I can't really tell from the image but it seems that I only had the issue with the two stops when comparing keys.

That channel or whatever that runs down the center of the key is wider than my original key... It doesn't seem like it when you glance at it or take pictures [I have tried] but when you look at it closely you can tell.

I've been calling around to check the different prices to get these things programmed, and for future reference:

Sherway - $108
Erin Mills - $108
Brant - $50
Acura 2000 - $55

I'm going to get my key programmed by 2000 later on today.

Back, everything's working like a charm. Got the key cut at Able Locksmith or something (145 Trader's Blvd E, unit 22 and 23 in Mississauga, near Hwy 10 and 401) for $5; great people too, I HIGHLY recommend them if you need your key cut or have any locking needs.

Acura charged me $55 + tax, came to $62.70 or something. Took half an hour, all 3 keys and remote still work. Told them not to wash the car as well.
