Unhappy Picked up my new TLX today...then dropped it off!

Hi guys

I picked up my new TLX SH-AWD Elite today and drove off the lot and as I got on the highway, I got a message in the MID saying "Some driver assist features cannot operate: Radar Obstructed." (Pic attached)

The shifting in stop and go traffic was annoyingly jerky.

Turned around and took it to the dealership and the technician said they haven't encountered this problem before and the technician said he took a test drive and the transmission should not be doing what it's doing. Kept the car and gave me an ILX loaner.

Great dealership and great staff. They handled everything very nicely. It's not the dealership's fault. But how do these cars make it out of the factory.

There's no timeline as to when I will get the car.

Ruined my day

Are you returning the car completely as in negating the purchase or just having it fixed ?

Hope it works out

my neighbours TLX has been in many times with transmission issues among other things. He can't wait to unload it. Did you research about these issues before you purchased?

When my ZDX was in service, I had the TLX as a loaner for 3 days and I liked it and didn't see any of these problems.

There is finally an update for the tranny software here in Canada. Its VIN based so your dealer should be able to look it up.

That sucks. Especially right after you drove it off the lot.

I actually asked them about the software update BEFORE I picked up the car and they said it was done. Then after the problem the technician said he applied the update and it's "better" but still jerky and that the transmission learns and will take 1000 kms before it breaks in which I hard to believe.
