Good bodyshop in the Toronto area?
Anyone know of a good bodyshop in the Toronto area?
So much crap happening to my tl lately.
I have a NBP and need to repaint the roof. Stains spots the size of quaters, then rock chips from a bunch of kids throwing rocks next to a busy road. I actually saw them, hit a couple cars. I got out and they ran. Lucky for them, actually me...or else I would've been charged with murder. LOL
Or should I take it back to Acura?
I just worried about the color not matching and that because its a repaint, windnoise ( because they will have to remove/reinstall the mouldings on the roof)
Also really concerned on rust forming later on.
Your thoughts? Please and Thank You

I thought about touching it up with the touchup paint, but it'll look bad because of the size of the stains and the chips are down to the primer. The paint is gone, just showing some grey.
I just posted a few days ago regarding the stains, and now the chips.
Why does nasty things have to happen to such a beautiful car such as the TL?
Is acura's paint really that bad/thin?

I'm actually looking for a good body shop also. I've got a small scrape on my passenger side rear fender. I've visited a few shops for quotes so far. Here are my opinions:
Maaco -- seems cheap, knowledgable guy, however Maaco has a bad rep
East End Auto Collision (owned by Parkway Honda) -- very professional, but pricey
Linwood Motors -- very pricey, moreso than East End
I'm still thinking about checking out a couple more dealers. From what I can tell, most people on these forums recommend going to the dealer or a highly reputable body shop.

For many years I've used G & A Autobody to keep my 1989 Legend in perfect shape. She's still in daily use and was our family's only car until we bought the 04 TL. Haven't needed any bodywork on the TL yet but I've seen a few of them in their shop when I was dropping off or picking up the Legend when repairing the inevitable winter damage from all the salt use in the GTA.
They're located at 614 Danforth Rd.
Scarborough, ON, M1K 1E9
Telephone (416) 261-5510

Thanks,
Anyone heard of Bayview and Steeles Auto Collision?
I heard that they are the preferred shop of most insurance companies, and they mainly do work for Weitze Toyota, and BMW.
I heard they have a lifetime warranty on their work, but not sure if it'll protect /cover you for rust on painted areas, which I'm worried about the most.
I was told that they are I-Car Gold Class as well, but could not locate them on the Gold Class website.
If you guys were in my situation, would you repaint the roof ?
Or touch it up with touch-up paint, and/or have them just try to paint the spots only, if that is even possible.
thanks

427 Collision has gone downhill over the years and I wouldn't let Macco fix the scrape I put on my lawnmower last week when I accidently rubbed it again the house while cuttin the grass. Dealers might be a little more pricey but I've found they do good work AND stand behind their work. Best of luck gettin the car fixed up.

I got a friend who works at north toronto acura.
they have a body shop at agincourt mazda, who is owned by the same company.
the gave me an estimate of 445.00 to redo the who roof.
with a life time warranty.
i think i'm gonna take it to them because after all, its acura, anything wrong, i just take it back to acura.
so they can't say anything about, me taking it to another shop and stuff.
plus the price is lower than the outside shops, thanks to my friend.
think this is a good idea?

Engineered Automotive does great work. Very professional. They have repainted some vehicles for me. They are in Concord and sort of specialize in high end cars. BMW's are there specialty. Speak to Steve...good dude. Oh yea they are in Concord. Check out there website www.engineeredautomotive.com

Took my TL to Bayview Steeles, very happy with em
As a rule of thumb this Acura owner would prefer you never get into any accidents. However if you must, this is a great shop to deal with. They have been there forever. In fact (and I asked) they have been there so long that, even though they are technically closer to John Street than Steeles, the only major intersection back then, in the Paleolithic Era I am assuming, was Steeles. Hence the name. Friendly, professional, courteous. My 07 TL was in a front end collision that buckled the hood. They were unwilling to give a full assessment until all the damaged parts were pulled, which, in case you are wondering, is the 100% right way to do it. They found small damage on the rad bracket and headlight brackets, tiny stuff but potential problems later, so they changed those too. Bottom line, when it comes to your car, attention to detail is precisely you want. Although I had picked them off the CAA approved list because of proximity, when I got there I remembered that, way back in the 90s, I had used them once for rust repair, privately, for a Camry, and was very pleased with the work. Highly recommended.
