My buddy has one installed, I'll ask him. I think it's Cobra?

Mine came with a viper 2way installed. I'm not sure what brand but it does allow you to exit the car and take the keys with you with the car still running.

Wish it made sense for me to add this to my car...
even with a clutch bypass, it'll be stalling nonstop since I also park with my car in gear

the Viper 5704 is pretty decent in terms of warranty and stuff.. ive been doing alot of research into this since i wana get one too .. im actually being a little more fancy and getting the HD 5904 but both pretty much do the exact same thing. most likely im going to do mine with in a week or 2 since its getting cold now.

Eh? What does the remote starter do with manual trans?

I was contemplating getting this before the winter, as with the colder weather approaching it's very hard to shift into gear when the car is cold especially with the stiff comptech short shifter.

since I park my car in gear (as its a habit and I'm also usually on some sort of incline) having a remote starter will (I assume) cause my car to stall since its left in gear.
if I left it in neutral then there wouldn't be an issue with stalling

Can't go wrong with compustar or viper!

I hate those cold mornings too but I park in my garage overnight so it's not so bad.

Ah I know what you mean, I do that too habitually even though my handbrake is nice and tight. Start leaving it in neutral?

I know it's late but I also have a compustar. I had one in my previous car. If I had to get another 2-Way Remote Starter, it would be another compustar.

Anyone install a Compustar remote start system?

It seems that every time I want to install a remote starter in my 06MT, it gets so complicated that I just give up. This time I want to finally do it. I'd love to hear from anyone that's successfully installed a remote starter into their MT. I'm open to other brands. I only looked into Compustar because everyone seems to praise them.

Has anyone installed a Compustar remote start system themself? I'd like to know what's involved with programming the "brain." Specifically, I'd like to know how to change the runtime option. The Compustar website says this is only adjustable by a dealer, but based on this manual, it looks like you can use the remote to program option groups 1-4 (see page 30). I don't know if this applies to other "brains."

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...,d.amc&cad=rja

I also need help figuring out what all to buy. Based on what I've seen so far, I understand I need to buy a set of remotes, a "brain," and an immobilizer bypass (known as the blade). Does that sound about right? Which brain should I buy for remote start only? I found an FT6200s on Amazon, but I don't know if that's the one I should get. I wish they wouldn't make it so difficult for consumers.
