03CLS6: Driver Side Bulb Flicker, Aftermarket HIDs?

So the car just came back from the shop for rear bearings. I'm the new owner, started posting here recently

I'm seeing the Drivers side bulb flicker when I fire the headlights up (lowbeam).
I'm looking at replacing the system with aftermarket so I don't have to continue pulling the bumper off to fix these sorts of things. Has anyone gotten them nationally without dealing with U.S. Shipping? If So, Where from, how did you find them, and how hard was it to install?

Cars so much quieter now I have to find new things to fix Sorry if this is the wrong subforum too, but I think I'm good there?

could be just a bad bulb, I had similar issues with aftermarket HID bulb. worked when it was cold but after 5min of being on it started flickering then turned off.

A good way of checking if the problem is the bulb or the ballast is by swapping the bulbs around. If after swapping the other side doesn't work.. well then you know it's your bulb. If the same headlight is still not working it's your ballast.

ddmtuning.com has some solid HID kits and they're priced pretty good for a whole kit.

One ballast went out (water probably fried it) on TSX, so I just bought an aftermarket HID kit from Pacific Mall and used a d2s to AMP (aftermarket ballast) converter.
Cost like $70

Use this guide:

http://blog.modifystreet.com/replace...o-d2s-adapter/

My aftermarket kit included a ballast that was a heavy duty big metal box as seen in the link above (not the slim plastic boxes).

I looked at ddmtuning.com. Only issues they are in California. I'm currently on day 15 of waiting for my bluetooth obd2 adapter to come from CA Express USPS

I found these guys:

OEM Ballasts look to be 150 on ebay, and philips bulbs are $100 @ Canadian Tire.

I put on ddm tuning ballasts and bulbs. Lifetime warranty. Only thing with going aftermarket is you have to seal the hole where the oem ballast sat and find a way to securely mount the new ballast. I used an abs plumbing cap. Oem will fail because they allow moisture in. I'd go aftermarket.

Any issue with shipping to Canada with your kit? I did read through the thread about changing the HIDs out
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=hid+diy
But there's talk of cutting wires, and not cutting wires. Is it possible to order a ddm kit that doesn't involve cutting? PnP so to speak?

Did you stick w 35w for yours? Did you have to drill the housing, or just plug the hole on the bottom after removing stock ballast?

I'm doing the stereo this weekend/week (THANK GOD) and then the headlights are next. I'm just waiting *knock on wood* to get pulled over for that headlight out.

In the meantime I'll try switching the good bulb in, but I think its going to end up being the ballast so just getting prepped up.

No issues with shipping. Go with 35w and then choose your bulb intensity. I went with 6000k. They have a slight blue, nothing crazy. My install was basically the same as the link you posted. You have to cut the oem connector off and put the ddm one on. I never did much wiring but it was really easy. And yes you have to drill a small hole to run the wires and epoxy around it. And you have to rig something up to hold the ballast.
