Thanks for all of the (mostly) positive feedback. Everything is somewhat smoothed over now. I talked with her and sent her an e-mail, smoothing things over a little. I'm going to ask her if it's OK to increase the $124 to $150 on my loan, especially since that my loan is now deferred until 2010 because I'm also taking Master's Degree courses. I (believe) think how it works is that any payment I make goes entirely torwards the Principal. I originally was on plan to pay it off by August of 2009, but since I don't have to pay interest, it will be paid off sooner than that!

I'm talking with her because it involves something that is in our budget. Whenever we change something, we should consult the other. It's only fair. Everything is cool (for now).

I've noticed that when there is a signifigant other in a marriage that is apart of the military, and is off to do their duty, it makes it harder for them to function while being away from the other.

Support her as much as you can. Divorce rates are extremely high when it comes to being married to a person who is active duty military or Reserve/Guardsmen (that has a high important job) and are away for a long time. If she says something that you KNOW might upset her...then don't do it. Obviously the balance of power is great because she's away while you're taking care of everything. Don't let it get above you. 26 dollars might mean nothing to you, but it probably means a lot to her. Give her a chance.

We're going to get a place in the Navy Lodge down there because I can't stay at her townhouse for security reasons (and for girls walking around in nothing but panties and bras according to my wife!). She is on nights, which she says sucks. I will not have seen her by about two months at that point, so I think we'll only quit for substinence!

I agree, the problem seems deeper than just money. Have you explained to her why you're trying to pay down the bills? Also, you may want to leave this page open so she can see that you're trying to "fix" the "problem" - but that could go either way; she'll either be happy you're asking for help or mad that you're putting your "problems" out in the open, I guess that just depends on the type of lady she is.
