Question though....I asked her if Vday is always one sided as in only guys buy girls gifts, or if girls buy guys gifts too. (I've been waiting for her to ask what I want for vday)

She basically said: girls dont usually buy guys gifts on vday, well except for her friend who is dropping $600 on her bf

So what's the verdict on girls buying guys gifts on vday?
A girl's gift for a guy should be:

1) Girl should be naked, waiting at the door for him when he comes home after work.
2) A six pack of his favorite beer should be in hand.
3) His favorite meal should be on the table.

Actually, the last V-day I had with a gf, I didn't get her anything, I just took her out to eat. However, she got me a GC for a massage and a pair of boxers.

I guess this would explain why is why I am single now.

At least I can learn from my mistakes.

Oh, she also gave me hot sex, but that should go without saying.

I am getting my guy a present one being a case of his favorite beer. I am also trying to find other things that he really likes. I dont like being the only one to get a gift on days like v-day.

I don't see why it should be one-sided at all, unless you've both come to some sort of agreement on how you celebrate Valentine's Day. Why should something be expected of the guy, but not of the girl, if the point of the holiday is to celebrate your love for each other (2 people).

I'm also one who likes to share in the cost of other things too, such as going out, having dinner, etc. Having one of the two paying ALL THE TIME or for everything just doesn't make sense and isn't fair.

Screw that (unless you never get these things), I'd rather have a $600 gift like the guy's friend above

Lets put it this way: I doubt she'd be thrilled having to/being expected to pay for you all the time and to always give without something in return (not because it's expected, but because you wanted to give back). Even when we go out, we either pay for ourselves only, or try to split times of when he pays all or I pay all. I only think it's fair, nice, and the right thing to do. Treat someone how you want to be treated. In no way do I expect my BF to celebrate any sort of gift-giving holiday without me being an equal player -- giving too. I actually get really excited about giving him things and doing things for him -- it makes me happy to do that for him.

No I def. agree with you. I don't see why one person should be expected to pay for everything or buy gifts all the time, especially if both have jobs/get bankrolled by their parents.

Here's my dilemma though...

We'll be in Mexico at an all inclusive resort. So obviously we'll go to dinner, but it's already paid for. I'm gonna arrange for flowers to be delivered or i'll go buy them myself. But unless I go buy something small and bring it with me, I'll have to figure out something there.

ugh...

Last year, my wife took off from work early, came home, cooked my favorite dinner (chicken marsala) and was waiting for me when I got home.

She had a new see-through bra on, crotchless panties, and my favorite tie on. Let's just say she was loving God for the rest of the night!

This year, I sent roses to her work, and I'm going to get her some sort of jewelry or something. I told her not to get me anything, and she got mad at me. I can't ask anything for my car because she doesn't know a throttle body from a hole in the ground.

You have to call where you ordered the flowers from and get your money back. That's bullschitt!

My wife got me some brand new art supplies. I was pleasantly surprised! I used to be a pretty good artisit. In fact, I sold a bunch of my works before. I'm kind of excited to get back into it.

I got my wife a heart-shaped diamond necklace, and as we were, ahem, you know, she asked me to draw her wearing only that necklace!

I think we may have a Titantic moment among us ladies and gentlemen! WOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!

meh. Now that i think of it... it wasnt that exciting. She came to visit on thursday and stayed till sunday.

When she was little her favortie book was the velveteen rabbit. Since she always got it from the libary when she was younger, she never had a real copy of it. So i found a mint copy on ebay that I got her. Fawkers are hard to find.

I took her shopping on Saturday. Shes a PAIN when she buys jeans and always returns every pair she buys. So i told her if she finds a pair today then ill buy them for her. So of course she found a pair which i thought looked great but she felt fat in. But I bought it for her anyways... now she cant return them.

And since i couldnt let her go without getting something on Valentines day, i had sent her a www.pajamagram.com to her house which she got yesterday. It was a cute pajama with candy hearts printed on the pants and on the shirt it said "dream girl"

Thats all really, i overhyped it.

I did. About 20 times yesterday with no exaggeration (sp). Thier automated phone service hung up on me about 10 of those times. After getting some kid on the phone, he proceeds to tell me that he needs to transfer me to customer service because he is in sales. Well after 5 attempts at sending me to customer service, and being hung up on. This was not an option. he then tells me that there is nothing he can do and to call back later.

Update* she still has not gotten them.
