Hope Ken doesn't mind but I don't really want my own thread...
Dating for 4, engaged for 4, married for 2...Bought a House and Decided procreating would be a good idea.
When my daughter was 1 my ex damn near lost her mind and said she wasn't happy and started dating someone else.
Turns out it was a combination of poor coping skills, postpartum depression and alcohol that led her there.
My way of dealing with someone that is shutting me out and not making an effort didn't help, hence being so into my hobbies.
I ensured she was sure about her decision before opening up myself to meeting someone new, which I promptly did
(current gf). Going 2 years strong with J now with 4 kids between the two of us. With shared custody, we have a
lot going on half the time and then we can be carefree teenagers in love the other half of the time.

Scary part is I could so see myself just "changing my mind" about anything so easily... I've never touched a drink and never intend to, it's too easy to get hooked...

I haven't had a drink in a year in a half because of my disgust with what it does to people's lives...
it hurt more than I let on but honestly, when I think about it, things ended up really well for me.
I took the high road most of the time always keeping in mind that one day I'd have to answer questions for
my kid and didn't want to have to lie or be ashamed of how I handled anything. I miss my old house,
my garage, the dogs (she kept and subsequently found homes for)...but the fact that I don't specifically
miss my relationship with her feels telling to me. Now, she's getting back on her feet and happy with
her new new guy (he's cool as fuck and my kid likes him) and I'm obviously happy so it feels like it
can actually work out well to choose to part ways and search for your next life.

She moved in last month. Easiest move ever when you're only a couple streets apart.
Also, last night I popped the question... She said yes!
I can't believe the changes in the past few years but I'm in a much better place. So many have gone out of their way to say how much happier I look and it's very true.
