So, what would you do if...

...you cannot stand your best friend's girlfriend...?
If there was a thing as past life, I think my buddy must've owed her something because I can't imagine anyone falling for her...Actually, amongst the circle of friends and even acquaintances, I know there isn't one person that really likes her; she's annoying, whiny, tries-to-be-cute-but-is-infuriatingly-not, very conceited, gold-digging...

Of course, no one has the heart to tell him as they've been in a relationship for 6+ years (!!!)...He truly loves her. I mean, he seems to be really happy when he's with her! Honestly, I think he's seeing her with a giant veil...

I've often been approached by others (because we are best friends) to slap some sense into him (and at times, believe me, I'm SO tempted)...Of course, OTOH, some people say that it's not my place--best friend or not--to come out and tell him to drop his GF...So, what do I do? Just keep living with this?

yeah just avoid her, if you cant, just ignore her.

if you try to point out to your friend what their significant other is doing, theyll just get mad at you later for insulting their SO.

how long have you been friends with him.. before or after this girl showed up?

This reminds me of the Friends episode with Janice, Joey, and Chandler.

dude, i'm in the same situation as you. i don't say anything because if he's happy, that's all that matters to me. sometimes i would really like to the gf though!!!!!! she really doesn't get along with anyone in the circle of friends and she does not make any attempt to be friends with us. which i guess is a good thing in the end.

Same situation here. Not much you can do... I made my thoughts known to my friend before they got married. So now when I tell her I don't like you, I never have liked you, I never will like you It's no surprise and there is not much anyone can say. I guess every circle of friends has to have a Yoko Ono (sp) at some point

HAHA I used to say the exact same thing..... Like I said I would atleast tell you friend how you feel. That way when you leave them out of group plans (like I do now) he knows why.

Hey, thanks...
But, I dunno...I'm worried that if I say anything that direct, it'll drive a giant wedge between us...

well i think you should tell him that you are in his best interest, and since you have been friends for over 12 years that should count for something.. i mean really

I worried about that too. The wedge is already there...it's her. If they have been together for 6 yrs there is a pretty good chance they might get married. You don't have to be as blunt as I was.... just tell him in a nice way over a few beers.

I would just talk to him alone sometime, just be like "hey man, maybe it's just me but Jane seems to be acting kind of odd lately, is everything cool?" Then hopefully he will say that it is just her nature or something and then you can say "well are you sure you are alright with that?" then you can bring up other stuff. The ice is broken. Silvia is right, you don't need to tell him to break up with her, just get the seed planted.

I had a situation like this... My best friend of 8 yrs... we were like brothers... he lived in my house for 6 months at one point!!! Stareted dating this girl.. she was kool at first but turned out to be a bitch... She ruled him... Got his mother on her side and she could do no wrong!!! She hated me because I would set him straight and be like WTF you slave after her for... He worked for his pops carpentry company and worked 6am - 8pm... she worked in a bank 9am to 3pm... you think that she would be there having food ready for him.. NO way... he went home and made her dinner!!! well I must have spoken up too much because he wouldnt hang with me anymore when she was around!!! Then she made sure that it all ended!!! To stick it to her i fawked her cousin at her wedding to him!!! Both her cousin and sister both agree with me.. but are happy shes out the house!!! GO FIGURE!!!

I haven't heard from my ex best friend in 2 years, since the day of his wedding!!!
