So I have decided to File a Police Report...
I mentioned before that my bfs psycho ex has been harassing me and I have not ever met her! So I think she went way too far by calling my number (obviously I did not give it to her, LOL) and by having some guy call up my boyfriends cell to say I was cheating on him.
I am filing a police report.
1. Defamation of character
and
2. Stalking
First off, I probably wouldn't do this for just any prank call but this bitch needs to suffer. This girl smoked and drank and (probably) did some drugs when she was pregnant and is a terrible mother. She puts her own selfishness ahead of the babies. Its absolutely disgusting. The defamation of character comes with her having some dickhead call my boyfriends cell and say absolutely obscene, vulgar lies and then the stalking is because she is calling my phone and I never gave her my number.
Now both times the calls were blocked but I am more than positive the police have it in their power to undo the *67.
I am wondering ....
Has anybody on here had to ever file a report because of a stalker or harassing calls?
Any advice to give me on how to really make this work. I think she needs to get in trouble. More so for how much of a moron she is. I can't forgive someone who would smoke and drink when they are pregnant and who acts the way she does. She stepped over the line and I think she needs to pay for it. I thought about going to her work (Hooters, LOL) and saying something to her, but then I would be in the wrong.

Call your telephone company and ask about obtaining a priority ringing service. By doing this, you might be able to avoid having to change your telephone number. If known, program your stalker's home telephone numbers with the service (or any numbers you feel they are likely to call from and know of) and when she calls to harass you from either of those numbers you will be alerted to the identity of the caller by a distinctive ring. (*note: if your stalker is calling from a payphone or later catches on and begins to, a priority ring will not help) This allows for you to have some peace of mind when you answer the telephone and also is very useful for reporting annoying telephone calls to the telephone company's annoyance center. This is also preferable to call blocking, as call blocking might incite the stalker into some form of undesired action.
Make a police report about harassing telephone calls the moment they start. You can then ask your local law enforcement about obtaining a phone trap. In generally all cases, you are required to have a police report to accompany your request when you call your telephone company, so the police report is necessary. The phone trap works like this: when the harassing call comes through, jot down the exact time (within three minutes grace period) of the call. Keep a notebook and small clock by the telephone for convenience. At the end of the day give the telephone company all the times of the applicable incoming calls. If you notice a lot of harassing behavior left on your answering machine, get an answering machine with a time stamp on it (so you can record the time of the incoming calls when you are away so you may later report them ) and a taped rather than a digital recording system to it. Defamation is not a criminal law, so no go there. You could try to sue her for defamation, but you couldn't prove damages (as well as other parts of a libel case...)
As for the restraining order...have fun. that's about all you can do to her, i think
As per Chiefs non-advice - THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE .... This probably isn't even advise if I didn't take my meds this morning....i may just be blabbing on about my mother and when she didn't tell me she loved me after that 3rd grade volcano "incident"......

First of all, and I'm sure you know this but I feel that I should say it anyway, just in case... when you file the report, make sure and refrain from mentioning her behavior while she was pregnant. Bringing that stuff up only makes you look vindictive, since it has nothing to do with your case, specifically. It will hurt you more than it hurts her. 
Secondly, if she's really bugging you, I think it's a great idea, because it will show her that you're not to be fucked with. But if you're just pissed... well, I guess what I'm saying is to wait a few days and make sure you're still mad about this, because suing her for defamation of character is going to create a whole mess of trouble for you, your boyfriend, this girl, her friend, and anyone else involved. Legal fees, subpoenas, the whole works. Your boyfriend will have to testify about what she said; your relationship (and personal history) will be raked through the coals to determine that what she said was really defamation of character and not just the truth. In other words, this is about to be a nightmare for everyone, so make sure you want to deal with that.
But yeah, bitch needs to get told, IMO.

Or, i could be a moron and giving you advice about a case that will never come to pass, since Jared has so kindly (and unofficially) informed us that D of C is not a criminal offense. Could she sue for slander/libel?

what time she calls, what she says, if there was anyone there with you when she called...the more details the better..
you can probably backtrack through your phone bill and find the times she called you before...
if you have an answering machine, most of them are able to record calls when you and the other party are talking...
I've used my answering machine for that purpose many a time...

You can get one of those little personal recorders, and you can get a microphone that actually suctions to the back of the landline phone that will record exactly what she says. i know you can do it with most answering machines too.

THanks, yeah I called T-Mobile. They told me I had to have the police report, that they couldnt just do it

mclaren's right-I had a psycho client that harassed my office staff & I until I got the town where it was occurring involved and the town in which I live as well.
1) File police report, has to create the feeling of fear/anxiety. Has she pursued you? Met you in person?
2) Defammation of character? Pollice don't give a rat's ass about this, this is a civil pursuit.
3) All this work doesn't get you much. A plea of guilty for harassment 2nd in NYS for instance, is a $75 fine (I believe) and it goes away. The only saving grace in my case was the judge was so pissed at this woman for not showing up, I talked him into ordering a bench warrant for her arrest.

put a trap on the line or just go to radio shack and spend 20 bucks to get a device you can use to tape record phone conversations--works like a charm.
