Maybe you should go onto campus with a slight buzz so that you're less inhibited. I don't know about you, but I'll rap to anything when I'm drunk.

No problem. I'm a bit surprised none of the lady members here haven't chimed in on this yet.
Here's another tip for you. If she looks at you from afar, meaning if the two of you have direct contact and she looks at you directly for more than the usuall glance... she's waiting for you to make the first move. Women always do things in a subtle/discreet way.

Great. Now he's loose.
Yes, Whiskey. Ladies! lol
D'sNBP, well done. Much better than Darksom. He's a punk.
I'll never understand why this is so hard. I know some of you guys are a little shy, but if you just swallow hard and go do it, the hard part will be over in SECONDS. Really, no time at all. Seems much easier than fretting over it for days and days.
Most of you are nice guys, although you like to act up a lot. I'm sure plenty of girls would like to spend time with you.

Invisiblewar, just-say-hello...
You're a good guy! She'll talk back to you. I'm quite confident!
ok. Deep breath? Now go!
....My boys..... Where's Nate?..... Nate? Help your brother!...... Don't ask me why! I said so. That's why!
Just talk to her, sweetie. Give her a half of a wink when you're done...and smile.

Forgive me Gypsygirl, I forgot to thank you for chiming in and for the kudos. Thank you. Ivisiblewar, as you see real ladies can easily tell what maturity level a guy has as well.

You're welcome, and I'm wondering why you've been so quiet in the last year.
Truth is, some of these guys are about the same age as my son. I really like all of them. They are good guys, and I really am kindof' a Mom.
I raise my own kids with a sense of humor in most things, and a couple of my young guys in here could use some of the same confidence out in the real world. I wish I could push them along and patch them up when they get hurt.
Invisiblewar, do it to it. Above all else, it's supposed to be fun...so have fun! You're too young to worry so much.

Man if you see on the street even better. You can just say, hey I see you all the time at so and so quad. And then she'll just spread em right there.
I should've taken this thread's advice. There was this hot ass milf at the pediatrician's office yesterday. We made eye contact and when I left I saw her in her room with her kids and gave her a smile and she smiled back. I'm sure the baby wouldn't have minded if I attempted to hit on the side chick...... Doom, you never banged a chick in a pediatrician's office with the kids in the next room? How lame. And I expected so much more of you.
Step up to the plate, Dude. You're living under a rock.

Well, "Hi" would break the ice.
Just start a casual conversation... Say stuff like: You're on your way to class....you think you've seen her around before - does she take classes in the same building? What is she taking? Etc... Build it from there. You can even make it a short convo so it ends on a good vibe, and then you have somewhere to start if you see her again another day. A short conversation that ends well will leave her with a good impression (perhaps pondering if she'll see you again) compared to a long, drawn out convo that ends awkwardly because you don't know what to say anymore. Skip any cheesy pick up lines and don't try too hard to be over the top -- just talk to her as you would anyone else.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with the "just walk up and say hi" suggestions.
Most girls (ones my age anyways) would IMMEDIATELY get suspicious if a guy just walked up to them and said "Hey, what's up?" I know I'd be suspicious if that happened to me. I'd see if you guys had any mutual friends, if you do, then there you go.
Or if she's hanging out in the library one day, ask her for help with a question. Smile a lot, ask for her name, say thanks, and be on your way. Next time you pass by her give her a smile and a wave. Work your way up from there, maybe ask her to grab a coffee.

I've never gotten freaked out by someone just sayin "what's up". I'm not sure I agree. Apparently Street Spirit feels the same way.
I think we appreciate honesty. If you're open and friendly we will be too. If you're sneaky or freaky or appear to be hiding something, we won't like it.
Outfits may have changed a bit, but women haven't. I'm not THAT old. lol

^ I think if I was a teen walking down the street and some random guy came up and started talking to me, I might be on guard - especially if instincts are telling me something is weird about it. However, I think it's pretty common for young people to approach each other on campus or in small campus towns, where just about everyone your age around there is likely a student at your school...trying to be social and have a good time. It's different than approaching someone downtown in a major metropolitan area, in a back alley, where people might be alarmed.

Maybe it'll be different if his face is familiar. I'm just saying that's how I think females would react if someone approached them with a "Hey, what's up?" Even in college there are tons of people, so he could be a student or a complete stranger and most students wouldn't even know the difference.
When it comes down to it however, it varies in each situation.
