Everyone keeps telling me how 'awesome' my wedding was and how good the food was. I barely remember any of it, not because of alcohol, but because everyone kept (frankly) pestering me for hours with congratulations and such.

That's a good size ceremony. In my experience
- No matter how much you prepare ahead, you'll still end up running around like a headless chicken the day before the wedding to get things ready and meet with relatives/friends
- Like Ken said, you probably won't be able to eat anything. I remembered not eating until the reception in the evening because we were too busy being congratulated, posing for pictures, and preparing for other events.
- You'll have to trust the work of the event coordinator/photographer/reception handler or anyone helping with the event because you'll have no time to direct things. Also don't run any kind of errands. If you need something picked up just ask one of your relatives. Your job that day is to be the star.
- With that being said, it's sort of a start struck feeling that day since EVERYONE will be looking at the both of you and smiling. Often friends will act like paparazzi pulling out their cell phone to snap a pic of you
- I'm not sure how other weddings are with gifts, but this advice should apply too. My wedding consisted a lot of cash gifts so I designated my cousins to handle the money. I would receive the money, thank the gifter, and hand it over to my cousin to secure and safeguard it. So designate someone to handle the gift and secure them.
- Probably an obvious advice but please don't get wasted on your wedding day and leave your bride alone and have her finds things to keep herself occupied. I've been to two weddings where the groom went all out and the bride just walks around by herself trying to find things to do so she doesn't have to sit at the bridal table by herself.

Any good ideas for getting video of just the ceremony?
We are not having a videographer for the event and the photographer does not "do some video" so we are basically left with:
1. have a guest use a flipcam and get crappy audio and no real view
2. use a go-pro mounted under the ceremony canopy
3. find someone willing to shoot 30 minutes of video
any ideas?

mdkxtreme, Yeah we thought a long time about it and decided against it. I am a "pictures" kind of person and she honestly thinks she would watch it ONCE after the honeymoon and then never again. Several friends also told us that it was the one thing they would have chosen NOT to do if they could do it again as they never watched it after the first time.

I'd say designate a family member to hold a video camera and tell him he can move around freely during the ceremony that you want recorded. I told one of my friend who is a photo enthusiast that I allowed him to move freely anywhere to take pictures of my ceremony and so he did as a "backup photographer" to an already hired photographer.

Good solution, we may try that. Not sure anyone in either of our families is to be trusted though! Shaky shots of the bride's chest are not appreciated.
