Do you wear your wedding band every day?

I wear mine all the time except when I sleep or work out. Although that didn't stop someone from hitting on me last weekend - and I was out with my wife! Funny that just doesn't seem to matter to some people...

I got used to wearing my ring (I used to fiddle with it all the time) and now I could wear it every day (but take it off to sleep or avoid excessive scratching of the finish if I did manual labour -- car washing, gardening, etc).

At NSXNEXT ... that is awesome.

As a former jeweler, I have to comment.
First, I agree wholeheartedly with Dark about placing value where it should be. Everyone has different situations and preferences for rings but overall, it should be a personal decision made between the two of you.
Second, on a more practical note, please don't wear your rings, or any jewelry for that matter, nonstop. Water and dirt, etc, does get under the band and it's really gross what can happen. I have also had to cut off ring that peoples fingers literally grew around. This is especially important if you have diamonds or stones in the ring. Usually there is a gallery (the framework under the stone) where dirt and grime can accumulate. Not only is this yucky but it can push on the underside of the stone and loosen it.
Third, platinum does scratch but it can be polished as much as you want because it is pretty much pure. Gold, on the other hand, is an alloy and also more brittle. When you polish gold, you're actually flaking pieces off and losing gold weight. This is especially true with white gold which usually has a palladium plating on the outside that wears off and will start to look yellow.
Finally, some cultures wear rings on the right hand. I know a Serbian guy who wore his ring on the right.
On a personal note, I did replace/upgrade my entire wedding set on our 10th anniversary. We were only 20 when we got engaged and the original set just wasn't my style from the get go. Plus having worked around jewelry, I learned what better quality looked like. I did keep the original and was planning to remount into a necklace so that I still had it for sentimental reasons. Just an idea...
